Trump predicts coronavirus vaccine will be ready by end of 2020

President Trump on Sunday predicted that a coronavirus vaccine will be ready by the end of 2020.

“We think we are going to have a vaccine by the end of this year,” Trump said during a Fox News virtual town hall at the Lincoln Memorial.

Asked about another country possibly beating the US in developing immunization, Trump said: “I don’t care,” adding that he just wants a vaccine.

“I’ll take my hat off to them,” he said.

Last month, Dr. Anthony Fauci said he thought it was within the “realm of possibility” that millions of vaccines could be ready by January.

“I do,” Fauci told NBC’s “Today Show” when asked whether a vaccine could be ready for widespread distribution.

“I mean, I’m obviously part of the team that’s involved in that.”
