One arrested following active shooter situation at Arizona Walmart

One person was arrested Monday following a shooting at a Walmart in Arizona, according to reports.

The situation started around 5 a.m. local time at the superstore in the town of Taylor, Stewart Bishop, a spokesman for the Snowflake-Taylor Police Department, told AZFamily.

A witness told the outlet that a gunman fired warning shots into the air. No injuries have been reported.

“Good morning Snowflake Taylor,” authorities posted to Facebook. “We wanted to inform you that there is an active incident going on at the Taylor Walmart. Please avoid that area if it all possible. We will provide information on the incident to you as soon as possible.”

Local outlet KSAZ-TV reported that a suspect has been arrested, citing police.

No other details surrounding the incident have been released.
