Hunt launched for missing Brit who vanished after landing in Fiji a week ago

Authorities are searching for a 23-year-old British woman who has gone missing while travelling in Fiji.

Police say Lydia O’Sullivan, from Whitehaven, Cumbria, has been travelling abroad for the past two years and recently arrived in Fiji from New Zealand.

Cumbria police say Lydia usually messages her family daily but she has not been heard from since February 28.

Prior to visiting Fiji, she had been living and working in Auckland, in New Zealand's North Island.

Lydia is originally from Whitehaven.

Cumbria Constabulary have today issued an urgent appeal to help find her.

She is described as around 5ft tall with blue eyes, long brown hair and a petite build.

A police spokesman said: "Cumbria Constabulary is liaising with Lydia’s family and agencies including the police in Fiji but would ask anyone with any knowledge of her whereabouts to contact police immediately."

Anyone with information on Lydia's whereabouts can email police on [email protected], call non-emergency number: 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
