The Yorkshire Vet’s Peter Wright has left Skeldale Veterinary Centre after more than 40 years. While he will no longer be working at the practice, he is still being featured on the Channel 5 docuseries working at a nearby vets, providing care for injured and sick farm animals. Sadly, fans of The Yorkshire Vet are going to be disappointed with the TV schedule shake-up.
Why isn’t The Yorkshire Vet on tonight?
Last week, Peter was seen helping a pregnant ewe deal with birthing complications, while Julian Norton and his team had to try and safely extract illicit items from a poorly puppy’s stomach.
With so much going on, fans were excited for the next instalment of the animal docuseries.
However, The Yorkshire Vet will not be airing this evening, Tuesday, June 15 on Channel 5.
The show is in its 12th series and was expected to return for episode 10 but instead, there will be something else in its place.
When asked about the scheduling by Express.co.uk, a spokesperson said: “The Yorkshire Vet is not as we have a show stripped across the week called Live: Summer on the Farm at 8pm Mon to Friday but the good news is Peter [Wright] will also be in that show.”
Summer on the Farm is an annual mini-series which celebrates British farming.
Helen Skelton will be hosting alongside Jules Hudson as they go back to Cannon Hall Farm in Barnsley which has been home to Springtime on the Farm for the past four years.
This time though, Summer on the Farm is live every night this week, having kicked off last night, Monday, June 14.
But the next episode of The Yorkshire Vet won’t be on the following week either.
Fear not though as it will be a special entitled The Yorkshire Vet: Summer in the Dales.
Few details have been released so far as to what viewers can expect from the one-off show.
Nevertheless, it should involve some of the gang from the original series.
