The Walking Dead show boss promises season 10 finale release ‘very, very quickly’ after coronavirus lockdown is lifted – The Sun

THE Walking Dead left fans wanting more when it was forced to wrap season 10 before its finale episode.

The AMC zombie drama had post production thrown into chaos by the coronavirus lockdown, meaning that while the dramatic concluding scenes had been filmed, they were yet to be edited for TV.

As such, the series stopped airing after its penultimate episode, which ended with beta (Ryan Hurst) marching his horde towards the abandoned building the allied communities were hiding out in.

However, amid all the doom and gloom show boss Angela Kang has shared a hopeful update about when fans can expect the show to return.

She insisted that as soon as lockdown was lifted, completing the episode would take just a matter of days, as it turns out the team were on the brink of finishing it before they were forced to abandon their work.

“We usually deliver the episodes for a big effects-heavy episode about two weeks before we air,” she told comicbook.com.

“We were about a week and a half out at the point which California shut down,” she went on.

“I think actually, by the time the world is safe for people to start venturing out, probably all of the effects will be done, and then it's just a handful of processes and it can be turned around very, very quickly.”

Fans are dying to see the Whisperers’ horde clash with the survivors of the brutal attack on Hilltop, especially with Maggie Rhee’s (Lauren Cohan) return confirmed.

Kang’s comments come as one of The Walking Dead’s producers mounted the head of Alpha (Samantha Morton) on their house’s front gates “to scare off coronavirus”.

Greg Nicotero shared his novel social distancing measures on his Instagram page, with his followers learning it was not only Alpha on show – with a total of six skulls raided from the hit programme's store cupboard.

The producer's home decorations were hailed "epic" by fans, who were treated to the exact detail of the horrifying figures mounted onto the imposing grey gate.

Greg proudly wrote in his caption: "Decorating the gate at my house!

"Sure to scare any virus away.

"And if you’re curious 1. Alpha 2. Bicycle Girl 3. Female walker Carl killed in the farmhouse in ep 301 AND one of the Governor’s fish tank heads."

Explaining the remaining three fearful faces, he added: "4. Michonne pet 1 5. Ben Gardner Governor fish tank head 6. Michonne pet number 2."

The Walking Dead is available to stream now on NOW TV.
