The Bay: Lisa and Manning interview forensic accountant
The Bay has returned to ITV for season two and fans were treated to all six episodes on the ITV Hub. The second batch of episodes is also being rolled out weekly on ITV, with each episode airing on a Wednesday night. Express.co.uk has a round-up of what happened during the first season for those who need a reminder.
What happened in The Bay series 1?
The Bay follows a detective sergeant called Lisa Armstrong (played by Morven Christie) who is a family liaison officer.
She is called in to help a family in Morecambe who lost their twins and it left fans hooked.
More than seven million viewers tuned in to the first season and news of season two was well-received.
The series was pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic but fans were treated to the first episode on January 20.
In the first season, Detective Armstrong discovered she had a personal connection with the family concerned.

She had spent the night with Sean (Jonas Armstrong), the stepdad of the twins, on the night they disappeared.
There had been CCTV footage of the pair in an alley, which the detective deleted in shame.
She has children herself who go to the same school as the missing twins, which made the connection seem even deeper.
Sean had been arrested but was later released due to lack of evidence and the search for the suspect continued.
Later fans were shocked to find out one of the twins, Holly (Darci Shaw), was found alive and she had admitted to killing her brother Dylan (Noah Valentine).
Another plot twist came later on when it transpired Sam (Louis Greatorex) had actually been responsible for killing Dylan.
He had been in a fight with Dylan, who had fallen onto concrete and the impact killed him.
Meanwhile, Detective Armstrong discovered her daughter Abbie (Imogen King) had been involved with a drug gang.
Abbie had been groomed by an older boy called Vincent (Adam Long) and she called on Sam for support.
Vincent was eventually caught and faced a lengthy prison sentence, along with Sam for the accidental killing.

Lisa was later suspended after she was caught for tampering with the CCTV footage from the night of the twins’ disappearance.
At the very end of the season, Detective Armstrong was awaiting a definitive answer about her suspension.
By the start of the second season, it appeared the incident was water under the bridge as she had been called in on a new case.
She has been tasked with investigating the murder of a well-established lawyer.
Fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on both seasons as they are both available in full on the ITV Hub.
One said: “Pretty good British crime drama. Thought the first series was better and more gripping than the second but both were enjoyable.”
Back in April 2019, the cast spoke about the first season and Christie said: “There is so much love in this story, I think what’s really important is the strength of family.”
They explained how the police involvement was secondary to that of the family liaison officer and she was central to the series.
The first season was described as a very human story compared to other crime dramas.
