Giovanni Pernice and Ranvir Singh left viewers feeling a little hot under the collar with their Argentine Tango on Saturday's Strictly Come Dancing, which ended with their faces almost touching.
Good Morning Britain star Ranvir, 43, nearly topped the leaderboard with her results, while viewers took to social media to swoon over the heat radiating from their performance.
However, professional dancer Giovanni, 30, has reportedly claimed they are nothing more than friends, with the steamy dance routine as part and parcel of the competition.
A friend of the Strictly star insisted there is no "spark" between the pair – just a friendship – according to The Sun.
A source reportedly told the publication: "The romance viewers think they see between them is just for TV.
"They have forged a close friendship but there isn't a spark like that between them. Both of them are getting tired of the rumours."
Daily Star has contacted Giovanni's reps for comment.
GMB star Ranvir, who split from her husband Ranjeet Singh Dehal several years ago, previously spoke out on any rumours of a Strictly Curse, branding the idea as "hilarious".
The "curse" refers to the number of couples who have fallen for each other while taking part in the show, with sweethearts like Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton, or Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell meeting their match on the dance floor.
As witty as ever, Ranvir told The Mirror: "If I got hit by the curse, it would be a bloody miracle.
"Oh my God, that would be hilarious. Most of the dancers were born in 1990 or something.
"I'm old enough to be their mother. It's very optimistic and complimentary that anyone would think I would be struck by the curse."
The pair's performance on Saturday night was a hit with the judging panel, receiving a grand total of 27 points after their tango to the Prince classic When Doves Cry.
Later, speaking on Lorraine, judge Shirley Ballas was quick to praise the electricity in the air during their steamy twirl around the dance floor.
She told host Lorraine Kelly: "Well let me tell you, Ranvir was all sizzle this weekend.
"There was a sensuality about the female movement, there was something special in the chemistry between the two of them."
Hinting Ranvir could have what it takes to land the coveted Glitterball Trophy, she went on: "It was like they were just in a room all on their own and we were able to look in the windows.
"She is sensational… She could be the dark horse by the way."
