Spoilers: Whitney falls apart as she is held in prison for murder in EastEnders

Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) has fallen apart and suffered a breakdown in EastEnders after the injustice of being denied bail over the murder of Leo King (Tom Wells).

After Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) changed his plea, Gray Atkins (Toby Alexander-SMith) was hopeful that Whitney would stand a chance of being released on bail ahead of her trial but there was bad news in store.

With Whitney feeling tested as the prosecution referred to Leo as a victim and tried to pin his death on her wanting revenge for his campaign of stalking, the judge had to repeatedly silence Whitney as she argued with the lawyer that it waf defence.

And Gray’s words weren’t enough to persuade the judge that Whitney wasn’t a flight risk and so she was informed that she would remain in prison until the trial, leaving her horrified.

As she was banged up in her cell, she fell apart in tears at the prospect of having to cope up to months away from her home and family. And as she threw her lunch against the wall with a traumatised scream, she battered the cell door repeatedly until her knuckles were raw and bloody.

Losing hope, Whitney sank to the ground in despair, feeling that Leo might well get the last laugh even from beyond the grave. Is she set to spend years inside for defending herself against her vile attacker?

And now that Gray has been suspended from the law firm, will Whitney be left without any help?
