Spoilers: Final Corrie scenes before shutdown show David being killed by gang?

Coronation Street have officially stopped filming scenes for the soap and now fresh pictures have emerged of the final time for now that cast and crew went out and about to film scenes on location – and it’s not looking good for David Platt.

Previous image sets have seen David go off the rails and deliberately antagonise thugs and gangs of drug dealers. Next week will see him living in fear of his life as a knife is pulled on him.

But in the wake of this, he appears to be going off the rails and invoking his own brand of vigilante justice as he deliberately seeks out gangs to attack them.

The first lot he comes across leads to him jumping on their car before they give chase to him.

And, seeming to get a rush of adrenaline from the showdowns, these pictures, believed to be the final location shoot before Corrie’s shutdown, show him try to push a gang member from his bike and make a getaway.

But as they hunt him down, he soon finds himself surrounded and violently attacked – will he get out of this alive or will he have pushed them too far?

We can’t reveal David’s fate and it is not known whether the soap will be back on air to continue the storyline as they have shows banked until summer.

However, scenes are filmed out of order so these will not necessarily be among the final scenes before the show potentially has to go off air.

In order to avoid that happening, episodes have been halved to three weekly editions.

An ITV statement read: ‘ITV has sadly taken the decision to suspend production of the soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale with effect from Monday 23 March.

‘We’ve been doing our best to carry on filming, whilst adhering to the Government’s latest health guidelines, to ensure we’ve episodes of both soaps airing on ITV until at least the early summer.

‘However, the health and well-being of the production teams, actors, crew and their families is of paramount importance to us and we now feel that the time has come to stop filming. We’d like to thank our viewers for their support and hope they continue to enjoy both soaps in the coming months.’

As of next week, Coronation Street will air singular episodes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV at 7:30pm.
