RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season three is on the way to the BBC, with plenty of drama to ensue. The British version of the popular competition series has been a huge hit since it started airing in 2019. Express.co.uk has all you need to know about the release of the third season.
What time does Drag Race UK season 3 air?
The BBC has been airing the UK version of the show since it started, with the American version available to watch on Netflix.
The network confirmed the third season will start on Thursday, September 23, with the opening episode airing at 7pm.
Fans will be able to watch the episodes weekly via BBC iPlayer, which is the main platform for BBC Three.
Media regulator Ofcom has since given the green light for the network to return to broadcast television.
This could mean that in future, fans will not need to use an online platform to tune in.
Drag Race UK is available to watch over in the US, and Australia, via WOW Presents Plus.
Users can sign up for $3.99 a month after a 30-day free trial – so they need not worry about missing out.
Hosted by drag veteran RuPaul Charles, the series has achieved worldwide critical acclaim.
Having proven to be so popular, spin-offs have launched in other countries including Australia and Canada.
A Spanish series is also in the pipeline, so there is plenty more sass and sparkle to come.
For season three, regular guest judges Graham Norton, Alan Carr and Michelle Visage are set to return.
They will be joined by a number of other guests throughout the season, including Kathy Burke, Alesha Dixon, Judi Love and Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
The season three queens were announced in August 2021, with Veronica Green due to make a comeback.
She was forced to quit last year’s show after she tested positive for Covid-19.
The remaining drag queens taking part in the third season are as follows:
Victoria Scone, 27, from Cardiff
Vanity Milan, 29, South London
Scarlett Harlett, 26, East London
River Medway, 22, Kent
Krystal Versace, 19, Kent

Ella Vaday, 32, Dagenham
Elektra Fence, 29, Burnley
Charity Kase, 24, Lancashire
Choriza May, 30, Newcastle
Anubis, 19, Brighton
The series made Emmys history as RuPaul Charles now holds the most awards of any Black artist.
At the 2021 awards, the show won Outstanding Competition Program, bringing its total to 11 statues.
A trailer for the third season has been released and it gives fans a first look at the stunning contestants.
A message appears saying: “Twelve fresh queens, one crown,” and viewers are already expressing their excitement.
On YouTube, PonyCentral2.0 said: “This cast looks sickening! I’m so happy that Veronica Green is back!”
