Piers Morgan news – Stars vows REVENGE on 'woke' celebs who criticised him after GMB exit warning 'I will retaliate'

PIERS Morgan has claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are running a “deliberate and malicious campaign” to smear the Royal Family as a “bunch of heartless racists”.

The former GMB presenter, 55, branded the couple’s behaviour “disgusting” – a week after dramatically quitting ITV following a clash with weatherman Alex Beresford over the Sussexes’ Oprah interview.

The TV host resigned when senior ITV executives said they wanted him to say sorry on air following 40,000 Ofcom complaints over his dismissal of the Duchess of Sussex's revelations on Oprah.

Piers told viewers he “didn’t believe a word” of Meghan’s CBS interview, in which she said she “didn’t want to be alive” and that the Palace had denied her mental health support.

Meghan also alleged that an unnamed royal had raised “concerns” about the “skin colour” of her and Harry’s children.

In a tweet on Tuesday night, Piers wrote: “There's a very deliberate & malicious campaign being perpetrated by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to smear, defame and trash Britain, our Monarchy & the Royal Family as a bunch of heartless racists.

“It's disgusting. Time to stand up for our Queen.”

Meanwhile, Piers appears to be more popular than EVER after gaining 100k Twitter followers and topping the Amazon book chart.

Writing on Twitter, Piers said: “UPDATE: I’ve gained 100,000 new Twitter followers since Tuesday, and my book about free speech has rocketed from 1,800 in the Amazon charts back into the Top100.

“It would really annoy the woke cancel culture brigade if it goes higher. Order here: http://smarturl.it/WakeUpBookHB“

It comes as the race to replace Piers Morgan is hotting up as a host of stars join the mix to replace the former GMB star.

The likes of Richard Madeley, Ben Shephard and Adil Ray have been slated as the top three TV figure in the running to replace Piers' daily morning slot by Ladrookes.

Ray is currently the favourite to take over the GMB mantle at 2/1, while previous favourite and Tipping Point presenter Shephard is the bookies second choice at 5/2.

MORGAN'S WIFE CELIA SHARES NICKNAME FOR MEGHAN MARKLE FOLLOWING ITV COMPLAINT

Piers Morgan's wife Celia revealed her harsh nickname for Meghan Markle following the Duchess' complaint to ITV over the GMB host.

Speaking with the Daily Star, she said: "Apparently Piers’ stance can be boiled down to his ‘unrequited love’ for Me-gain, ever since she contacted him in 2016 and, clearly thinking he could be of use to her, asked him out for a drink before ghosting him when she moved on to bigger and better things.”

PIERS FIRES BACK AT FORMER CNN COLLEAGUE CALLING HER ' A TREACHEROUS LITTLE -STABBER'

Piers Morgan has fired back at former CNN colleague Ana Navarro calling her a "treacherous little back-stabber".

Last Tuesday Navarro tweeted that it was a "good outcome for the benefit of humanity" that Piers "got fired" from his job at Good Morning Britain.

One week later, Morgan replied to the tweet and brought up what seemed to be some issues that they shared when they worked together.

"Hi Ana, I wasn’t fired by ITV (I’m still working for them) just as I wasn’t fired by CNN (I was offered a new 2-year deal – ask Jeff)," Morgan said.

"But great to see you’re just as big a treacherous little back-stabber now as you were when I worked at CNN."

    'IT'S ALL SO PUBLIC'

Susanna Reid has discussed Gayle King's comments on William and Harry – detailed in posts below.

In a discussion with Ben Shepherd on Good Morning Britain today, she called Gayle's comments a "leak" – and said it was "very public".

"We can take that one part of the family wants to keep it private and one part doesn't," she said.

Ben replied: "Leaks tend to be a little bit more subtle."

And he said viewers have contacted the show to say the family should "do this behind closed doors".

"We want them to sort this out, we all do, but it just starts to feel more and more uncomfortable," he said.

Piers may have stepped back as the host of GMB – but he's not going anywhere.

“People love his honesty, even the people that don’t like him, they can’t help but be interested in what he says."

Piers hit back: "Hi Ana, I wasn't fired by ITV (I'm still working for them) just as I wasn't fired by CNN (I was offered a new 2-year deal – ask Jeff). But great to see you're just as big a treacherous little back-stabber now as you were when I worked at CNN."

PIERS MORGAN APPEARS TO MAKE DIG AT ITV AFTER GMB DEPARTURE

Piers Morgan appeared to make a pointed remark about his former employer as he shared an extract from his book on Twitter.

The presenter left his job at ITV’s Good Morning Britain last week after refusing to apologise for comments about the Duchess of Sussex’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

He said he did not believe claims made by Meghan in the interview, which included comments about her mental health and racism within the royal family.

He has since said he has become the “latest ‘victim’ of the cancel culture that is permeating our country, every minute, of every hour, of every day.

“Though of course, I consider myself to be neither a victim, nor actually cancelled.”

PIERS COULD BE REPLACED BY BBC’S VICTORIA DERBYSHIRE ON GMB

ITV wants to poach BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire for Good Morning Britain after Piers Morgan quit the show this week.

Bosses are keen for the Beeb journalist to join GMB’s line-up as Piers’ shock exit has left them with a hole in the presenting team. Victoria’s Bafta-winning current affairs show on the BBC was axed in March last year, though she continues to present the news.

A telly source said: “ITV producers have been looking for the right platform for Victoria for a while. They think she is a real talent and one of the few opinionated TV journalists who could be a real powerhouse addition to GMB.

“She’s not afraid to challenge guests, ask tough questions, get straight to the point and wax lyrical about what she believes in. They’re using Piers’ exit as an opportunity to trial new faces.”

‘STRESSED’ PIERS GOT ‘FIXATED ON MEGHAN MARKLE’

Trisha Goddard has claimed Piers Morgan is suffering from “stress” and got “fixated” on Meghan Markle.

Reacting to the bombshell news that he’s left ITV, Trisha – who appeared on his Life Stories show this month and locked horns with Piers in a row over racism last week – suggested the 55-year-old TV host is in “pain”.

“I’m not going to gloat about Piers deciding to go,” she told Sky News.

“I don’t know how he feels I’m not even going to put myself in his head. I wonder if Piers isn’t going through a tough time or has been.

“I know he is prone to banging on about something but I always worry when someone gets so fixated on something. I’m not talking mental illness. I’m talking about stress. You don’t know what’s going on at home for anybody.”

Addressing the petition on Twitter, he wrote: “I won’t be going back, but thanks to everyone who has signed these petitions. Normally, people start petitions to have me fired or deported, so this is a pleasant surprise.”
