PIERS Morgan has hinted he's landed Jon Snow's old Channel 4 News job.
The broadcaster and journalist, 73, left Channel 4 News earlier today after 32 years at the helm – making him the longest-serving presenter in the show's history.
However, it appears Piers has thrown his hat in the ring to take on the job for himself.
The former Good Morning Britain wrote on Twitter: "Shall I dust down my tie collection @Channel4News ?"
But it looks like his chances may be a bit slim, as Editor of Channel 4 News Ben de Pear wrote: "Don't ring us, we'll ring you."
Jon Snow announced today he would be leaving the show following a 32 year stint.
The 73-year-old will continue to work at Channel 4 and "will front longer-form projects… and represent the channel in other matters", according to a statement from the broadcaster.
Snow said: "After three incredible decades on Channel 4 News, it is time to move on.
"I am excited by the many things I want to accomplish but I have to say I have enjoyed every minute of my time with the programme.
"It has brought me adventure, as well as sorrow in some of the stories that I have had to report and also joy in reporting others, but, above all, it has brought me community in working with the most fantastic group of people who are bound in intellect, humour and understanding.
"Together, we have forged a wonderful service.
"I feel proud to have contributed to Channel 4 News, let alone to have anchored the programme for the last 32 years.
"I'm looking forward to new adventures and new challenges."
Jon's career in journalism began at LBC in 1973 before he moved to ITN in 1976, where he served as Washington correspondent and diplomatic editor.
He then became the main presenter of Channel 4 News in 1989.
Piers sensationally quit Good Morning Britain last month following a fiery on-air clash with co-star Alex Beresford.
He dramatically stormed off set after Alex accused Piers of having a personal grudge against Meghan Markle, with the presenter sparking over 40,000 Ofcom complaints for comments he'd made about the Duchess the previous day.
He had been on the show for five years alongside co-host Susanna Reid.
