'Love Island LIVE: Shannon and Hugo dumped their partners just weeks before signing up for the show'

LOVE Island’s Sharon Gaffka has insisted she did tell her Whitehall bosses she was going on the show this summer – and they are “huge fans” of it.

The 25-year-old was reported to have quit her job as a civil servant in the Department for Transport and it was claimed that her decision to go on the show was a shock to her department.

She said: "My intention post Love Island is to return to my profession. I did tell my boss and colleague that I am going on Love Island. They are really big fans of the show so I think they are more excited about it than I am.

Asked if she will have to monitor her behaviour because of her job, she explained: “I think that there is that civil service code of conduct  to be aware of but it’s not something that is massively unaligned from my own personal morals  and code of conduct anyway.

“I am not there to talk about my job or profession. I am there to find love, I am not particularly conscious or nervous that I will say something I shouldn’t.”

Meanwhile, Chloe Burrows boasted of having an affair with her married City executive boss in a promotional video for the show watched by millions of its fans.

And in a new promo for Monday's launch show, Shannon Singh strips down to a thong bikini as she kicks off viewers' introduction to the latest batch of singletons. She purrs "let's go" as she puts a record on before posing for the camera.

The full list of Islanders for this year was revealed on Monday – a week ahead of this season's first episode airing on June 28.

    BEDROOM BOAST

Love Island’s Faye Winter has insisted she is great in bed – but she’s unlikely to show off her wild side because she’s too scared about upsetting her family.

The 26-year-old lettings manager from Devon admitted she didn’t want to get cut out of her parents' will – so plans to keep them proud.

Speaking to The Sun Online and other press ahead of the launch, she said: “My family are super supportive, I am very lucky. What I will and won't do hasn’t been a conversation that we’ve had around the dinner table, I won’t lie.

“But I am very aware that me and my sister are in the will and I do still want to have 50% share, so I can’t do much that they aren’t going to be proud of.”

In her intro VT for the series, Faye boasted about being great in bed and told us: “We’ve all got to back ourselves.”

    KEM’S REGRETS

Love Island winner Kem Cetinay says he regrets having so much sex in the villa after becoming a business owner.

The star won the third series of the ITV show, alongside his then-girlfriend Amber Davies.

In an interview with The Sun’s TV Mag, Kem, 25, revealed that if there was one thing he would do differently if he had his time in the villa again, it would be to have less sex.

Kem explained: “Now I’ve got a business and I’ve got staff, and if new recruits search for me, some of the first articles that come up will be about me having sex on TV.

“But you’ve got to remember, I was 21! I wasn’t who I am now. So I don’t feel embarrassed about it because it is what it is, it happened.”

The TV star continued: “Maybe I shouldn’t have had as much sex as I did – maybe once or twice would have been enough. Not as regular! But I loved the whole experience.”

    GRAN'S THE WORD

Love Island 2021’s Brad McClelland’s nan has admitted her fears for her future interiors if he couples up with Shannon Singh.

Joyce McClelland, 75, has been raising her beloved grandson since he was a young boy, and he still lives with her to this day.

So ahead of his stint on the raunchy ITV2 show, she has been keeping an eye out on his prospective new other halves – and Shannon’s ‘eight times a day’ sex demand has got her worried.

In fact, she’s not sure Brad – or her – could handle her high sex drive.

"She says she wants sex eight times a day. I hope he doesn’t end up with her or that back bedroom will be ruined,” she hilariously told The Mirror.

“I’d need the telly on full blast all day!”

    SQUEAKY CLEAN

This year’s crop of Love Island stars has been vetted for criminal records – to avoid sex offenders slipping through the net.

And researchers have spent hours poring over their social media pages looking for any red flags or bad behaviour.

They’ve been looking for any examples of racist, sexist, homophobic or bullying Tweets that could blow up in producers’ faces.

All wannabees picked for the ITV show have been the subject checks by the government’s Disclosure and Barring Service – just like teachers must undergo before getting classroom jobs.

ITV chiefs wanted to weed out any would-be Love Islanders with a serious rap sheet.

A telly insider said: “The makers carried out suitable background checks on everyone who was shortlisted in the selection process.”

    HEARTBREAKERS

Shannon Singh and Hugo Hammond have been slammed as heartbreakers after ditching their partners just weeks before signing up for the hit show, which starts tomorrow.

Former glamour model Shannon, 22 — singled out by bosses as the face of the series — had been dating DJ Ben Sterling since last year.

But The Sun on Sunday can reveal she coldly dumped the music producer after making it to the final stages of the ITV2 series’ casting.

Fellow contestant, hunky PE teacher Hugo, has also been accused of ditching two women to clear his path to the famous villa.

The 24-year-old — who claims he is a “relationship type of guy” — abruptly ended his relationship with long-term girlfriend Millie Simmons, 22, earlier this year.

And he also cut contact with Kathryn Burrows, 21, who he exchanged flirty texts with after ending his relationship with pretty Millie.

    'TORCH BEARER'

LOVE Island hopeful Hugo Hammond wants to show people with disabilities can be "mainstream."

Hugo, 24, was born with club foot, and is the first ever Love Island contestant to have a physical disability.

He said he considers himself “not a disabled person, but just a person who has a disability” in an interview ahead of the show's launch on Monday June 28.

He told PA Media: “If I can set a great example and show people that having a disability doesn’t mean you can’t be mainstream or it doesn’t mean that I don’t have a right to find love and things like that, then that would be great.

"I would love to be the torch bearer for that."

Asked if he found women who go under the knife attractive, he said: “That is a turn off.”

“I am hoping to find love in the villa, for sure,” he said.

    STAYING PUT

LOVE Island's Iain Stirling will not be travelling to Majorca this year over travel restriction fears.

Due to everchanging rules and regulations regarding travel, the narrator of the hit reality show will stay in London while he sets the scene for all the fans at home.

Iain, 33, appeared on Loose Women yesterday ahead of Love Island which will commence on Monday night on ITV2.

When Kaye Adams asked if he will on Majorca to narrate the show, Iain replied: "We are in London, I think, now, this is the thing with coronavirus, I never want to say anything because you never know, who knows what's going to happen.

"I don't know what colour Majorca is going to be next week, it will be tartan by the time I'm done with it!"

Although he will not be in sunny Spain for the show, hosted by girlfriend Laura Whitmore, the TV host is happy to be back doing what he does best.

    ISLE DO IT

Love Island bombshell Shannon Singh says she is up for having sex on TV and that it will be “the horniest series ever”.

She claims if she gets up to anything steamy she will be supported by her ex-stripper dad and her mum, who encouraged her to do glamour modelling in her teens.

Shannon, 22, who lives in Fife, said: “I’ve got quite a high sex drive when I’ve got a partner, I think it’s healthy.

“I’m not worried about doing that on TV.

“I’m not a traditional Indian girl.

"I’m a glamour girl and there’s not many who are Indian.

“I want to empower Indian girls.

"We’re in 2021, we can own our sexuality, we can own our bodies.”

    SECRET RELATIVE

LOVE Island fans are shocked to learn Aaron Francis has a famous relative from the reality show Made in Chelsea.

Love Island hopeful Aaron, 24, revealed he is cousins with Made in Chelsea star Hugo Taylor.

He told the Daily Star: "Hugo is my cousin. I haven't seen him in a while. We aren't that close.

"But if I ever wanted to ask him for advice, I could. I'm quite close to his dad, too.

"Being related to Hugo and seeing what life is like for him means I can gauge what it is like to be on a TV show."

    ‘I WAS SHY’

Love Island’s Zara McDermott has admitted she struggled on Love Island after giving up her job as a government advisor.

The 24-year-old now works full-time as a social media influencer, boasting millions of followers.

Talking to The Sun’s TV Mag, Zara said: “I was 21 when I went on Love Island, but I was still shy and introverted, so it was the most character-testing experience.

“You’re surrounded by people who are such huge personalities.

“I was thrown into the deep end with a huge group of people, trying to stand out and be yourself.

“Sometimes I don’t even know how I got on to the show – I’m not a party girl, I’m not an outgoing person. I’m quite a calm, relaxed person.

“I questioned going on it because I loved my job and wasn’t sure I wanted to leave it. But now – it sounds weird and some people don’t believe it’s a real job – I find influencing quite a creative job. I don’t know how long I’m going to be doing it for, so why not maximise it?”

    SHAN BE TAMED

Love Island star Shannon Singh was a glamour girl, an Only Fans superstar and famously boasted of having sex eight times a day.

But in real life she insists she’s really “quite timid” and would only get intimate with a guy in the villa once they’ve earned her trust.

The 22-year-old Scot, whose dad was a stripper too, said she made “good money” from modelling on Only Fans – the website best known for making X-rated performers rich.

However, she told The Sun before heading into the villa: “I can’t really say I’m a millionaire.”

She said: “I think it’s a really good income stream but there’s still a stereotype about girls of Only Fans.

“I’m not as ‘chuck yourself as guys’ as people probably think – I’m not going to be one of these girls who are dying to kiss guys.”

    'THICK SKIN'

Love Island star Shannon Singh has opened up about vile online abuse she received from racist trolls.

The 22-year-old Scottish model went on social media prior to jetting off to Majorca for this year’s Love Island.

Shannon told the Daily Star: “I did a live stream on social media and got trolled – being called racist remarks and loads of stuff.

“Social media has given people a voice and it’s not necessarily a nice one.

“Sometimes I’ll roll out of bed and be in a good mood and I won’t let it affect me.

“But obviously I have days when I get out of bed and read something and I want to react.”

Shannon added: “I’ve already got a thick skin in terms of what people say.
