LOOSE Women's Janet Street-Porter blasted The Pembrokeshire Murders claiming 'Luke Evans has the charisma of an ironing board'.
The 41-year-old actor plays DS Steve Wilkins in the three-part ITV drama which documents the reopening of a cold case of two double murders in Wales in the 1980s.
Luke stars alongside Keith Allen, who plays serial killer John Cooper, and the drama has had viewers gripped, with 6.3 million tuning in to the first episode on Monday night.
However, Janet, 74, admitted she had been left underwhelmed by it, and said on Tuesday's show: "For it to work, the lead character has got to have depth to them.
"They’ve got to have faults… One of the problems I had with it, is that the leading man – played by Luke Evans – had all the charisma of an ironing board. He was wooden."
Her fellow panelists didn't agree, with Kelle Bryan saying: "I thought he was great Janet" and that he was "engaging".
Janet had nicer things to say about Keith, 67, as the serial killer, telling her co-stars she found him "absolutely chilling".
While Janet was left cold by Luke's performance, viewers were left hot under the collar over a scene of him ironing in his underwear.
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "Luke Evans ironing in his pants is the pick me up 2021 needed."
Another tweeted: "Luke Evans is proper fit like."
A third added: "Sound about 16 saying this but how f***ing fit is Luke evans #pembrokeshiremurders."
Meanwhile a fourth wrote "How am I meant to concentrate on what's going when I'm staring at Luke Evans? It's literally impossible."
A fellow fan tweeted: "Luke evans peachy bum ironing his shirts."
The Pembrokeshire Murders concludes tonight at 9pm on ITV.
