Loose Women’s Jane McDonald announces she is quitting her Channel 5 shows

Jane McDonald has announced that she is quitting all of her Channel 5 shows as she teases new "exciting" projects.

The 56-year-old former Loose Women presenter took to her official website to break the news to her fanbase.

Addressing her fans, she wrote: "By now you will have seen the news about me stepping away from my shows on Channel 5.

"It’s been an incredible four and a half years of travelling, 38 Cruises and over 100 flights.

"It’s now time for me to spend some time in the UK, concentrate on my music and tours and exciting new projects."

Jane continued: "I want to offer my most sincere thanks to everyone who has worked on all my shows.

"Everyone at Channel 5 and Viacom International Studios who have all helped make the most incredible and successful programmes.

"It’s been a total joy to work with everyone and thank you very much to everyone who has watched and supported the shows. I have had a blast!"

Jane rose to fame back in 1998 after her appearance on the BBC show The Cruise and has had a long career in daytime TV shows such as Loose Women between 2004 and 2014.

She also starred in the ITV programme Star Treatment in 2013 and Cruising with Jane McDonald since 2017.

The star also presents Jane & Friends on Channel 5 which she is now stepping away from.

Jane earned herself a host of new fans after Adele Roberts took a photo of her into the I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2019.

DJ Adele took in her photo as a luxury item and it became a major talking point not only around the Aussie campfire but also back at home.

Jane explained: “Oh my goodness, I’d never met Adele and yet she takes in my picture and then I’m being talked about by Greg James on Radio One! I mean I can’t even get on Radio Two!

“It seems I have a new ­following now and I’m so chuffed.
