Katy Perry rips off her black wig to reveal her REAL hair and admits 'everything is fake!' after Jimmy Kimmel interview

KATY PERRY gave fans a peek behind the glamour when she ripped off her black wig to reveal her real hair underneath.

The singer – who gave birth to a daughter in August – displayed her short blonde locks beneath the glossy black waves she rocked for an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Katy stunning in her long black wig, which she teamed with a printed high-collar gown with a thigh split and black heels.

"Mama has the night off so you get inches and @americanidol on @jimmykimmellive tonight ok," she said alongside several snaps and videos of her glam look.

The 36-year-old shared the reality on her Instagram Stories, however, posting a clip of her bright blonde hair slicked back to her scalp as hairstylists and makeup artists got to work.

"Everything is fake!" Katy exclaimed, after zooming in on her face and hair.

The Teenage Dream singer welcomed her first child, daughter Daisy Dove, with her fiance Orlando Bloom in late August.

She revealed she started filming the latest season of American Idol just five weeks after giving birth.

"And I didn't plan that. But it was like, "Oh, my God!" It was so intense, you know?" she said on Live With Kelly And Ryan on Monday.

"Giving birth, then going back to work and breastfeeding, like — holy crap! This is what women do? Oh my God!"

Katy will appear as a judge on the upcoming season of American Idol, which kicks off on February 14.

The singer has been open about the struggles of motherhood, recently admitting she's been struggling to get any sleep.

Katy told Hugh Jackman and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, at a Meditate America virtual event: "I'm a new mother.

"My daughter – she's such a gift – but there is sometimes a challenge concerning sleep no matter how much support you have."

She added: "But where am I going to get those six hours that I used to get? Where did it go?"

The Daisies singer – who recently revealed her trim post-baby body – said she catches up on rest when she meditates.

She said: "There's been so many different ways [transcendental meditation] has blessed me, but in this particular moment, as a new mother, I take 20 minutes."

The new mom does have plenty on her plate as she's also scoping out a new home with Orlando.

The actor previously dubbed himself the baby whisperer while talking to Ellen DeGeneres.

The Hollywood star explained that he chants a Buddhist mantra to Daisy that he himself also says each morning when he wakes up.

He said: "So now, I would just walk into her room and she hears my voice, and it soothes her, and when I have her, I sorta just chant in her ear, it's rather sweet.

"And Katy's like, 'what?' It's like I'm a baby whisperer, so I'm definitely winning the daddy points."
