TV presenter Kate Garraway has paid a sweet tribute to her Good Morning Britain co-star, after they left the popular ITV morning talk show.

The host took to social media to wish her colleague, producer and news editor Liz Little good luck as she embarked on the next step of her career, saying that she would "be missed".

After filming Friday morning's edition of GMB (November 4), Liz took to Twitter to say: "Today I wrapped up my last GMB shift surrounded by the very best – the most talented, creative and caring crew in telly.

"I’ve been beyond lucky to work with colleagues I consider best friends and am forever in awe of them.

"But for now it’s time for a new adventure at ITN / ITVX."

Following the emotional post, Kate then replied to the tweet and paid tribute to her co-star with a sweet message, saying: "Good luck! You’ll be missed x."

Kate's fans also flocked to the comments section to offer their best wishes to Liz too, with one saying: "Good luck in all you do. Happy days ahead."

"Good luck in the future whatever you're going to do," added a second.

Kate Garraway has fronted GMB since 2014, and regularly co-hosts the programme alongside presenters including Ben Shephard, Susanna Reid and Adil Ray.

During a recent appearance on GMB, the presenter also gave an update on the health of her husband Derek Draper, who is battling the long-term effects of Covid.

Speaking about her nomination for a National Television Award for her documentary about Derek, she described the moment as "bittersweet".

"It's bittersweet, because you wouldn't really want to be in a position to be making that documentary because it wouldn't be a situation that you would choose," she said.

"However, there were many nights when we feared Derek will be taken from us completely.

"So the fact that he fights on so incredibly, and we have the chance to care for him, is a fantastic thing."
