JOE Swash says his son Harry, 13, 'will be affected' by the battle he had with his mum when he grows up.
The TV presenter shares the teenager with his ex-fiancee Emma Sophocleous, and the pair recently went to court over their son.
While Joe said it was the "best money I've ever spent", he admits the situation has had an effect on young Harry.
Appearing on Friday's Loose Women, Joe made the admission during a discussion about the impact of parents banning their ex partners from seeing their children after a break-up.
Joe, 38, said: "I lost my dad growing up so I know it's so important to have a good mum and a good dad.
"I wish people would realise how important a good male role model is.
"With Harry it was a really tricky situation – and things are 100 per cent better – but it's affected him in ways I need to keep an eye on."
He continued: "When he gets older the stuff that went on with me and his mum will affect him.
"It's a burden I'll feel for the rest of my life."
Joe opened up about how "tricky" co-parenting can be after a break up.
The star, who lives with Loose Women panelist Stacey Solomon and shares one-year-old son Rex, said: "It goes on quite alot.
"As parents we have one goal and that's to bring our children up as best we can. If we remember that whether we are together or not that's what matters."
