Coronation Street star Simon Gregson told fans on social media that he had contracted coronavirus.
He shared: ‘1st day out of bed today starting to feel a little better after contracting the virus. My main symptom was gastric and still is bloody awful but lucky to not have respiratory. Stay safe everyone x.’
His soapland family showed him support, with Elle Mulvaney, who plays his on-screen daughter Amy Barlow, told him: ‘Get well soon’ and Charlie Lawson, who plays Steve’s dad Jim McDonald, also tweeting him well-wishings.

Is Simon Gregson married?
Gregson married long-term partner Emma Gleave in 2010.
They have three sons; Alfie, born in 2007, Harry, born in 2009, and Henry Teddy born in 2016.
What has Simon Gregson starred in?
Simon has been in Coronation Street for over two decades.
He first joined the soap as Steve McDonald in 1989 and has appeared throughout the run since, with only a couple of minor breaks.
On the show, Steve is currently bracing to start a scary storyline as his young son Oliver is set to fall seriously ill.
Throughout his time as Steve McDonald, the actor has received over 17 awards and nominations, including the 2014 British Soap Award for Best Comedy Performance and the 2017 Legends of Industry Award for Television Acting.
In addition to his tenure on Corrie, he has appeared as a guest and panellist on shows like Through the Keyhole and All Star Family Fortunes.
He also appeared as himself alongside then-Corrie co-star Michelle Keegan in a 2009 episode of Red Dwarf.
