Great British Bake Off fans livid as Hermine 'robbed' of spot in final

Great British Bake Off fans have been left fuming after Hermine was eliminated from the competition ahead of next week’s final.

The 39-year-old baker was axed from the show by Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood during the semi-final patisserie week after failing to impress them with her showstopper comprising of 25 mini-cubes.

As a result, Peter, Laura and Dave will be battling it out for the winning title next week.

Viewers are raging at the results, with many citing that Hermine had been named star baker two episodes on the trot and had wowed Paul and Prue with her stunning jelly cake creation only last week.

Taking to Twitter with clenched fists, one fumed: ‘I WANT AN EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THIS QUEEN IS NOT IN THE FINAL!!!!!!’

Echoing a similar sentiment, another added: ‘Hermine was absolutely robbed of that, what were they thinking?!’

Speaking after leaving the tent, Hermine said: ‘I believe everything has a reason. It was the right time for me.’

‘When I go home and I have time to reflect, there will be a lot of happy memories,’ she added.

Meanwhile, Peter was named star baker after winning a rare Hollywood handshake

Hermine left a hilarious and moving message after leaving the competition, reminding people that ‘being yourself is all you need to be’. ‘

‘It has been an absolute privilege to have made it to the tent and to have baked alongside 11 fantastic bakers, each with their own strength,’ she penned.

‘The camaraderie was amazing.’

Great British Bake Off returns on Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
