Goggleboxs Mary Killen refuses to talk to husband Giles after explicit joke

Gogglebox favourites Mary Killen and Giles Wood left fans in hysterics after clashing once more on the hit Channel 4 show.

During Friday's episode, the kooky couple were seen playfully bickering over Giles' choice of language.

Mary hit back: "You are not allowed to swear in this room."

After Giles tried to explain the history of the word was 'Anglo Saxon', she interrupted: "Right, I am not speaking to you again for ten minutes."

The spat quickly sparked of flurry of social media posts from amused viewers.

One fan wrote: "'You’re not allowed to swear in this room… I’m not speaking to you for 10 minutes' No wonder Giles acts like a toddler, Mary treats him like one #gogglebox."

Another added: "What is wrong with Mary? Giles is hilarious.

"Does she not have a sense of humour? Always belittling him #gogglebox."

A third chimed in: "'You're not allowed to swear in this room'.

"Would love a hidden camera show seeing Mary and Giles daily life."

A fourth praised: "God bless Giles and Mary! #Gogglebox."

However, despite her threat of giving her husband the silent treatment, later on in the episode it seems the couple were back on better terms.

After watching an emotive drama about the reality of life in Northern Ireland before abortion was legalised in 2019, Giles turned to his wife to ask her about when she lived there.

With their typical dry humour, Mary replied that it wasn't her main thought when starting a new life in the UK.

Looking serious, she replied that she came to the UK to meet interesting new people such as Giles.

Giles bluntly replied: "Yes, when I was exciting."

Gogglebox is now set for a short break after one final episode of series 17 on Friday, May 21.

Goggleboxers Jenny Newby and Lee Riley confirmed the decision via social media on Friday afternoon.

Speaking in the clip Lee said: "Happy Friday everybody," before Jenny cut in "and sad Friday".

Lee replied, "Why so sad?"

Explaining what she meant, Jenny said: "It's my last one".

Lee added: "Oh yeah it's our last filming week this week so we're filming today."

Gogglebox returns next Friday at 9pm on Channel 4.
