Gogglebox fans were once again up in arms as two contestants were filming in the same house again despite social distancing measures in the UK.
The current coronavirus pandemic has meant the UK has been in lockdown for four weeks so far, which means members of different households are not supposed to mix or visit each other’s houses.
Viewers spotted sisters Ellie and Izzi were once again filming in the same living room, despite living separately, though they were sitting far apart on two couches.
They took to Twitter to voice their concerns that social distancing measures were not being followed correctly, tweeting: ‘How come Ellie and Izzy are mixing again? We’re never going to to beat this fecking virus.’
Others added: ‘#Goggleboxhow come the sisters are back in the same house?’ and ‘#GoggleboxSocial distancing doesn’t really work when you’re breathing in the air, touching the same objects, in the same house, lol.’
Viewers were confused how this constituted social distancing, adding: ‘How come Izzy and Ellie are together but last week the boyfriend was there? They are not following the rules #SocialDistanacing#Gogglebox’.
Another tweeted: ‘So, Lockdown means nothing I’m gathering? Izzy is back with her sister, the two brothers are still together. #Gogglebox’.
It’s not the first time the programme has been criticised for the families not following self-isolation rules correctly, after friends Lee Riley and Jenny Newby were still filming together.
They later confirmed that they had been staying in the same caravan during lockdown, so they were self-isolating together.
Lee tweeted: ‘Well what can we say it’s Friday and it’s still on #Gogglebox.Jenny and me watching together as we are both on lockdown TOGETHER friends with no benefits I may add.’ He added: ‘An hour of laughs safe stay well #StayHomeSavesLives.’
