There are no updates as to whether or not Gillian will star in performances this month, but in a statement released it reveals that she will be "absent for a short period".

The panto ends on December 31, so it is unclear when or if Gillian will return.

In a statement posted on the Medway Tickets Live website, the Snow White production team penned: "We regretfully report that Gillian Wright, star of Snow White at the Central Theatre, Chatham this Christmas, will be unable to take part in today’s performance of Snow White following a broken wrist.

"She has been able to work up to this point but following minor surgery she now needs a little recovery time and will therefore be absent for a short period."

They added: "In the meantime, the show must go on, so Samantha Hughes, whose credits include Blood Brothers, Chorus Line and Joseph, will temporarily be taking up the mantle of the Wicked Queen will undoubtedly be causing all manner of terrible trouble for our panto heroes!"

This comes after the soap starlet shared a career update during the week.

Holding an award made from glass, the Jean actress beamed as she announced the exciting news.
