EastEnders hints at secret illness story for Isaac in cryptic scene

EastEnders has hinted at a secret illness story for Issac Baptise (Stevie Basula).

The young man opened up to mum Sheree Trueman (Suzette Lewellyn) in tonight’s episode (January 14), and it appears that he fears no-one will ‘look past’ his health issues.

Speaking about how chuffed he is that his mum stepped up for Patrick (Rudolph Walker), Isaac said: ‘I’m happy for you. Not everyone gets a second chance at finding love.’

However, the mood changed somewhat, as he said: ‘I mean you can look past Patrick’s health issues… but who’s going to look past mine?’

What ‘health issue’ is Isaac referring to? Is he keeping quiet about a secret illness battle?

Viewers have seen Isaac really step up since Patrick suffered a stroke earlier this month.

He’s been by the Walford legend’s side every step of the way, and in tonight’s instalment, he call Patrick his ‘dad’ — much to Patrick’s delight.

Sheree struggled in the wake of Patrick’s stroke, but a conversation with Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) made her realise she will do whatever it takes to ensure her husband doesn’t ‘give up’ on life.

EastEnders continues Friday January 15 at 8:05pm on BBC One.
