EastEnders Gray Atkins’ vile abuse of wife Chantelle ‘to be exposed’ by Mitch

EastEnders fans were left with their jaws on the floor last week when Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) once again resorted to violently attacking his wife Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer).

As a result of all the stress he's been under lately, Gray took out his frustration on a vulnerable Chantelle but her dad Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) who's long had suspicions about his scheming son-in-law, looks set to find out what is going on.

With tension aplenty in the Atkins' household, EastEnders spoilers have revealed that Chantelle does her best to hide her injuries from Gray this week as she starts her new job at Kheerat Panesar's (Jaz Deol) call centre.

Meanwhile, Gray attempts to rectify the situation with Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) and therefore sets out to find something that would incriminate Leo (Tom Wells).

However, Gray discovers the extents of the injuries he's inflicted upon his wife and feels mortified as a result.

He once again promises her that this will never happen again, but Chantelle simply remains cold with him.

As she continues to work, Kheerat comments how impressed he is in regards to her work ethic, and dad Mitch offers her a hand as she struggles to find a balance between work and home life.

Mitch later discovers Gray's therapy card and Chantelle panics as a result.

Will she finally open up to her dad about her violent husband?

Mitch has long had his suspicions about Gray, which were made all the more clear during the vow renewal in December, so could he perhaps put two and together and work out his daughter is being abused?

Fans of the BBC One soap have watched poor Chantelle become embroiled in a harrowing domestic abuse storyline as she suffers emotional and physical abuse at the hands of her husband.

Viewers know that Gray has been attending therapy sessions to try and help him control his violent streak but they don't seem to be helping.

The evil character broke Chantelle's arm earlier this year when she revealed her pregnancy test had come back negative.

The extent of his manipulation became clear when Chantelle later apologised to her husband for making him angry.

Gray also grabbed Chantelle from the back and throttled her last week when he got suspended from work.

How far will the evil lawyer go?
