EastEnders fans hail Nancy Carter's return to the soap 'best news of the year'

EastEnders fans have hailed news Nancy Carter is finally returning to the soap as the ‘best news of the year’… and it’s only February.

Viewers of the BBC soap were thrilled to hear that Nancy, played by actress Maddy Hill, will finally be making a comeback to Albert Square after a five-year absence and it sounds like it won’t be one to miss.

She had originally ditched Walford for New Zealand, but bosses have now confirmed that Nancy will be returning with a bang and much to the surprise of her parents Mick and Linda Carter (played by Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright).

Reacting to the reveal on Twitter, fans went wild for Nancy’s upcoming return, with one particularly excited EastEnders fans tweeting: ‘NANCY IS BACK IN EASTENDERS???? I WIN.’

‘It’s only February, and EE already coming through with the best news of the year, really missed seeing Maddy on my screen, Nancy was always one of my favourites so really can’t wait for this #EastEnders,’ posted another.

One more agreed: ‘Nancy Carter coming back to eastenders is quite possibly the best news,’ while another soap fan suggested: ‘bringing nancy back to the carters is what eastenders needs.’

‘I absolutely loved playing Nancy and have often wondered what she’s up to, so feel very grateful to be able to rediscover her 5 years on!’

Nancy was last seen on EastEnders in 2016, where she was seen heading off to New Zealand with boyfriend Tamwar Massod (Himesh Patel).

In 2018, viewers learned that the pair had got engaged and Nancy’s parents attended her wedding in 2019.
