EastEnders fans convinced Sharon attacked Ian in dark Dennis revenge plot

EastEnders fans are convinced that Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) is the person behind Ian Beale's deadly attack.

The Walford businessman has antagonised just about every Walford resident you can think of and he was left to die in Friday’s instalment.

A number of suspects were implicated in the attack — such as Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) and Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White).

However, fans of the BBC One soap are convinced that Ian's best friend Sharon is the person who attacked him.

Sharon returned from picking up baby Albie from Karen Taylor's (Lorraine Stanley) and was left stunned to find Ian lying on the floor.

She wasted little time in calling Ian's mother Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) and the pair wanted for an ambulance as they ere unable to find a pulse.

Sharon calmly told Kathy: "I couldn't find a pulse" but the café owner eventually discovered her son is breathing.

Viewers at home quickly took to social media to point the finger at Sharon.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "Hmmm Sharon is acting strange."

Another added: "I think it was Sharon? I think she’s been playing Ian because she knows he was responsible for Dennis’s death.. Like she knew since Dotty told her about Dennis."

A third person posted: "Karen giving Sharon an alibi because of Albie?"

While a fourth said: "Sharon's looking shady."

"It was Sharon that attacked Ian," a confident fifth fan wrote.

The police soon arrived on the scene, and suspicions were running high, as word of Ian’s attack sends shockwaves through the Square.

Sharon is yet to find out that Ian was behind her son Dennis' death.

Ian locked the youngster below deck and took away the keys, leaving him trapped without any means to escape.

He intended to teach him a lesson, after discovering the teenager’s cruel online campaign had led to Bobby Beale being attacked.

Did Sharon attack Ian as part of a revenge plot?
