Daily Star’s Inside Hot TV newsletter sees Ed Gleave send you telly’s hot takes straight to your inbox every Sunday

Eamonn Holmes took a savage swipe at BBC Breakfast as he returned to Celebrity Gogglebox with wife Ruth Langsford on Friday night.

The This Morning presenters offered their views on the latest shows on television as part of the Channel 4 series.

After watching Snakes On A Plane and Clarkson's Farm, the couple watched an edition BBC Breakfast.

During the episode, host Charlie Stayt welcomed viewers to the show by introducing himself and co-star Naga Munchetty.

While watching the programme, Eamonn told Ruth that he "couldn't bear it" when presenters introduce their colleagues as well as themselves.

He said: "I can't bear it when presenters say each others names.

"Why can't you say your own name? I'm Charlie Stayt and I'm Naga Manchetty. She can speak for herself and why have you got to say that?"

Eamonn and Ruth are heading back to the This Morning sofa next month, it has been revealed.

They will return to our screens for seven weeks this summer, and fans are thrilled.

It comes after they were replaced by Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond back in January.

They are returning to host the ITV daytime show when Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby take their summer break.

Ruth and Eamonn, both 61, are excited about the stint, with Ruth telling OK! magazine: "We'll be doing seven weeks from July. I'm looking forward to it."

They have filled in occasionally since, but were nowhere to be seen in half term.

One fan tweeted: "The BEST news in the last few months."

"This is what the fans wanted", added another viewer.

Poor Eamonn has been recovering after he suffered three slipped discs.

He told fans last month that he’s doing 'baby exercises' to rebuild nerve endings in his leg.

He wrote on Twitter: 'Working on my balance and leg weakness. Have to build nerve ends back in my Right leg- but going well."
