Who is Dani Dyer going to play in EastEnders?
Viewers know that actor Danny Dyer portrays soap legend and Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter in the BBC show.
But in spite of the family connection, his daughter Dani won’t be joining the Carter family as a new member.
Instead, Dani is set to appear as a cab driver who gives Mick a ride on the Square.
A TV insider told The Sun: “Soap fans are going to be thrilled to see father and daughter acting opposite each other.
“Unlike some other celebrities who come on the show, she won’t be playing herself, she will be a cabbie who picks up Mick in the street.
“But it’s only a small role and not one which bosses are planning on keeping as an ongoing character.”
EastEnders are yet to reveal more details about Dani’s arrival storyline, and viewers will have to tune in to find out.
When is Dani Dyer joining EastEnders?
EastEnders has confirmed that Dani will appear alongside her dad in the soap next month.
EastEnders spoilers have revealed that Mick will be preoccupied next week when Linda drops the bombshell that she’s pregnant following her affair with Max Branning – and that she doesn’t think Mick is the father.
Could Linda's bombshell rip the Carter family apart?
In real life, Dani welcomed her own first child back in January 2021 with her partner Sammy Kimmence.
Will Dani Dyer become a regular on the BBC soap?
It is thought that Dani is only making a brief guest appearance, rather than joining the show on a recurring basis.
Dani has said it has been her dream to follow her award-winning soap star dad into the world of acting.
She previously appeared as an extra in a number of her dad’s films, including Vendetta, Run For Your Wife, The Other Half and Doghouse.
Dani previously applied for a role on EastEnders but didn’t get the part and instead decided to opt for Love Island, which she won in 2018 with her ex-boyfriend Jack Fincham.
She said of the audition at the time: “They wouldn’t let me in it. I think it’s because my dad is already on it, so if I went on it, there would be a massive outrage.”
In December 2020, Dani revealed how she was supposed to be auditioning for a part in Holby City before the coronavirus pandemic sent the country into lockdown and forced her to put her acting dreams on hold.
