Corrie airs emotional exit of major character – with very sad moment

Faye Windass (Ellie Leach) has left Coronation Street for a new life in Slough with Jackson (Joseph Evans) and their daughter, Miley.

The character has been debating an exit after she accepted that she was developing feelings for Jackson again, but Craig (Colson Smith) tried to stand in her way.

He did this by threatening to tell the police about her and Emma’s (Alexandra Mardell) hit and run last January, which resulted in an old man called Ted dying after they hit him with their car.

Craig covered for Faye which stopped her from going back to prison, but he used this to his advantage and said that if she left, she would tell the police everything.

In Wednesday’s (May 24) edition of the ITV soap, some family photos involving Miley, Jackson, Tim (Joe Duttine), Sally (Sally Dynevor) and Gary (Mikey North) made Craig realise that Faye perhaps didn’t want to stay in Weatherfield as much as she was making out.

He told his girlfriend that if she’ll be truly happy in Slough, then she should go.

With tears of relief in her eyes, Faye was able to pack her bags and prepare her departure.

As Faye said goodbye to Gary and Sally, Tim took her and her new family out of the street in a taxi.

On their way, Faye spotted Craig and got out for one final goodbye.

Faye emotionally told Craig that she’ll always love him and thanked him for making her the person she is today. The two characters have been friends since they were at school, with Craig supporting Faye through her pregnancy and always being there when she needed him.

Faye kissed Craig on the cheek and hopped back into the cab, ready for her new adventure.
