Coronation Street stars tease game-changing identity twist for Esther and Mike | The Sun

THEY'VE been stirring up trouble for Summer and Aaron on the Coronation Street cobbles but are Esther and Mike who they profess to be.

A number of wild fan theories have appeared online appearing to suggest that there may be a twist in the tale with the couple and speculation that they may have a closer connection to teen Summer Spellman, played by Harriet Bibby.

Over the last few weeks, Corrie viewers have seen Mike (Tom Lorcan) and Esther (Vanessa Hehir) convince Summer and Aaron to hand over their baby to them as part of an illicit surrogacy plan.

In exchange, the pair have agreed to pay the young lovers a large amount of money which they can fund Aaron's dad's rehab treatment.

Summer and Aaron (James Craven) have so far kept the plot hidden from everyone except their housemates Amy and Jacob and as part of the plan have agreed that Mike can be identified as the child's biological father and pretend he and Summer conceived the child together.

In a heartbreaking plot twist, Summer tragically lost the baby but is yet to tell Esther and Mike as she still needs the cash to fund the rehab.

However fans have been speculating that the pair are not all they are made up to be with some even suggesting that Esther could be Summer's biological mother herself.

The birth mother of Summer has never been disclosed to viewers as she was adopted by Drew Spellman who passed over parenting responsibility to Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) upon his death.

Corrie newcomer James, who plays Aaron, addressed the fan theories and gave his views on the matter.

The star said: "Maybe Mike and Ester have other intentions but maybe not. We'll have to see."

Daniel Brocklebank also address the storyline, admitting: "There's something a little sinister about them I think.

"A lot of their scenes are without me so it's interesting to see it unfolding as a viewer but there will be plenty of twists and turns before the storylines finishes."

It remains to be seen what the young couple will do and when all their secrets will unravel however for fans of the show it seems there is still a while to go.

Recent pictures showed Summer's former guardian Paul (Peter Ash) and Mike filming an explosive showdown.
