Call The Midwife’s Laura Main worlds away from BBC show as she wows in glam gown

Call The Midwife star Laura Main looked worlds away from the BBC period drama as she wowed in a green silk dress that fell just above the knee.

The actress, 41, donned an incredibly glamorous number for her latest photoshoot, comprised of a strappy green frock embroidered with pink and yellow floral blooms.

For shoes, Laura opted for a pair of killer stilettos which wrapped around her feet in a cut-out style, rising to her ankles and adding an extra few inches to her ensemble.

Laura opted for a stunning silver clutch bag made from faux-snakeskin to complete the look, and added a gold chain-link necklace for a bit of flair around her collarbones.

And though Call The Midwife fans are used to seeing her on-screen as the no-nonsense Sister Bernadette turned Shelagh Turner, Laura couldn’t have looked more different as she painted her lips a deep scarlet, opting for a bloom of blush across both cheeks and volumous lashes and dark liner.

She strutted her stuff in the Claridge’s Hotel in London, standing in a room set up to look like a living room adorned with a rustic wooden floor, with beauty products lined up on a mantel behind her as she posed up a storm for the camera.

Captioning her incredible set of snaps, Laura explained that she had been attending a party on behalf of RadioTimes.

She explained: "Last week I was out out!

"Thank you @radiotimes for inviting me to your legendary, normally annual, Covers Party, and as Call the Midwife have been on a fair few covers over the last decade (even though Shelagh is yet to feature, not hinting!!) I’ve had the honour of going […] a fair few times."

She added: "It still feels a little strange to be going out, I won’t lie, but it is so good for the soul to be doing things again."

The actress went on to thank her stylist for "encouraging me to wear such a fun, as well as beautifully made, embroidered dress by @alicearcher."

She also thanked her pals for letting her get ready alongside them, adding: "It got me in the mood!"

"I certainly haven’t looked like this much throughout the last couple of years!" Laura joked.

And her fans soon flocked to the comments section to praise the star’s new look, with one writing: "Looking gorg!"

"Gorgeous – and can we just talk about those shoes?!" someone else gushed.

As a third fan said: "Wow you are stunning!"

"You are so lovely, Laura. Have a wonderful weekend," another social media user wished.
