A shooting rocks the cobbles but what next in Corrie?

The following article contains major spoilers for this week’s Coronation Street episodes, which can now be viewed on ITV Hub in the form of a boxset.

Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) returns to screens this week, after spending the past couple of months in hiding.

DS Glynn is concerned that her presence on the cobbles is proof that drugs baron Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) has intimidated her out of testifying.

The detective is, of course, correct, but Leanne covers, claiming that she’s set foot back on the street as she was missing her nearest and dearest.

Harvey, meanwhile, is concerned that Leanne is having second thoughts, and therefore he tells Sharon Bentley (Tracie Bennett) that he’s going to send her a message.

Father’s Day is celebrated by several of Weatherfield’s finest in next Sunday’s episode (June 20), and Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) evades Natasha’s (Rachel Leskovac) watchful eye in order to give dad Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) a card.

Nick, desperate not to upset Natasha, instructs Sam to return home, but he ultimately agrees to spend some time with the young man.

Leanne, meanwhile, heads off to Oliver’s grave with Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson), but when she returns to the cobbles, she’s rattled by the sound of gunshots!

Harvey’s warning shots.

Leanne finds Nick and Sam on the floor, having ducked for cover, but they’re fine.

However, the incident makes her decide that she cannot allow Harvey to dictate her actions any longer, and therefore she tells Nick she’s contemplating testifying against him in court.

This episode, which will air on Sunday (June 20), can be viewed online right now, due to scheduling changes caused by Euro 2021 football.

All of this week’s Coronation Street episodes are available to view on ITV Hub Alternatively, these episodes will air Monday June 14 at 9pm, Thursday June 17 at 9pm and Sunday June 20 at 8pm on ITV.
