MEMOIR

THE SECRET MIDWIFE

by Anonymous (John Blake £16.99, 320 pp)

On her first day as a student on a labour ward, the Secret Midwife was directed to a quiet room. Inside, a woman was sitting on a bed, cradling a small, silent bundle.

‘Ah, thank goodness!’ the woman said. ‘I’ve been pressing the buzzer for ages! Can you please put my baby back in the fridge?’

Still only 17 years old and totally unprepared for the situation, the student thought she must have misheard until she took in the pallor of the dead baby’s skin.

‘I shakily took the cool bundle from her,’ she recalls, ‘mumbled something incoherent and walked out with this stillborn infant in my arms. The coldness shocked me. “Erm, what do I do?” I asked the first person I saw.’

An anonymous midwife blows the whistle on underfunded and poorly managed British hospitals in an eye-popping memoir (file image)

An experienced midwife calmly took over, leading the overwhelmed student to a side room with a long metal fridge containing shelves just big enough for small bodies. Underneath it were drawers labelled with hats, baby-grows and blankets for the babies who didn’t make it.

‘I ran,’ she recalls, ‘the sound of blood rushing in my ears, and hid in the toilets, sobbing. I’d never even held a baby before, and on top of that I’d never seen a dead person, but here I was on my first day and all before 9am. Could I cope with this?’

That was 15 years ago and today the Secret Midwife is still looking after mothers and babies for the NHS.

She has written her eye-popping memoir anonymously because she wants to blow the whistle on an increasingly underfunded and poorly managed British hospital culture which drops its youngest workers in at the deep end and throws its most vulnerable staff under the bus when mistakes, inevitably, occur.

According to the Royal College of Midwives, the profession is losing a midwife every day because of the mounting stresses of the job.

In England alone, half the maternity units are forced to turn mothers away due to staff shortages. Our author reminds us that in her 15 years as a midwife: ‘The number of managers has doubled while the number of midwives has halved.’ Fans of TV show One Born Every Minute will relish the Secret Midwife’s tales of pool births, home births and C-sections. Expect a fresh cast of fainting fathers, bossy mothers, arrogant consultants, and bewildered teens who didn’t know they were pregnant.

The midwife of more than 15-years revealed she’s learned to avoid getting pinched or grabbed by women in pain, however she was bitten on one occasion (file image)

We learn how midwives become social chameleons: relaxing their language around labouring women who like to swear and talking more professionally with more formal women. Meeting women at their most vulnerable, midwives hear our confessions then turn photographer to snap that magical first picture of parents with their newborn children.

She tells us that while doctors don’t usually attend their patients’ funerals, midwives routinely pay their respects to the babies lost on the wards because they ‘might be one of the only people who has known or held that baby alive’.

While they often love bumping into their ‘ladies’ on the street, they also learn to dodge us when necessary. ‘I became adept at avoiding getting pinched or grabbed by women in pain,’ says the Secret Midwife. ‘I even got bitten once. I can’t say I was all that impressed. “Ow! Bite your husband!” I ordered. “Then we can send him to A&E.”’

Midwives also liaise with social workers in difficult situations. ‘Mothers don’t always know best,’ she sighs, listing the effects of drug and alcohol use on unborn babies.

Anonymous author shares the stories of a woman who left her baby in a toilet and another who kept a baby conceived when she was raped (file image)

She describes women wandering from the ward to smoke marijuana, which can affect the baby’s heart rate. Cocaine use is on the rise among pregnant women and this can cause the placenta to detach from the womb lining, depriving the foetus of blood and oxygen.

We hear of one awful case in which our author was caring for a 23-year-old heroin user who locked herself into a bathroom on the ward. Inside she finds: ‘A scene out of a Quentin Tarantino movie. She was passed out in the bath. Cigarette butts floated in the water next to her limp body and a razor blade dangled loosely from her fingers on the outside of the bath . . . She had been slashing at her belly in a bizarre attempt at a DIY caesarean.’

We also read of a woman who left her baby in a toilet, another who refused the medical assistance that would have prevented her child’s brain damage and the brave girl who kept a baby conceived when she was raped.

THE SECRET MIDWIFE by Anonymous (John Blake £16.99, 320 pp)

The Secret Midwife is intensely alive to the mental wellbeing of her patients, believing: ‘giving birth is an assault on a woman’s identity and status . . . For some women the process is wonderful. But for others all their previous notions of personhood slip away and after all that you have to look after a baby who is 100 per cent dependent on you. It can be brutal.’

Our author struggles with motherhood herself, working long, physically and emotionally draining shifts, then coming home to her own screaming baby.

She writes that hospital management resented her taking short breaks to express milk from her aching breasts and failed to support her through extreme stress when she was falsely accused of negligence. She calls for an immediate cut in management and more investment in frontline services.

But she still loves her job. ‘To my mind,’ she writes, ‘all babies are beautiful: tiny but perfect little human beings. If it was up to me, I’d take them all home.’

Police search for teen who attacked Asian woman for ‘causing’ the coronavirus

Police are still searching for a teenaged girl they say hit an Asian woman in the head with an umbrella on an MTA bus in The Bronx  — while yelling that the woman had “caused the coronavirus.”

The hate crime attack took place on a Bx13 bus on March 28, a Saturday, at around 3 p.m.

The suspect and three 15-year-old girls allegedly approached a 51-year-old Asian woman as they rode together through the Highbridge neighborhood.

All four attacked the victim, calling her “bitch” and asking why she wasn’t wearing a mask — and blaming her for the global COVID-19 outbreak, police said.

They fled the bus after the attack, police said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and received stitches for a cut to her head, police said.

The three 15-year-olds were apprehended near the scene shortly after the incident.

They face charges for hate crime assaults, menacing and harassment.

'Doctor Who': Season 13 Filming Might Be Delayed Due To Coronavirus

Doctor Who season 13 might be delayed? Say it isn’t so. Unfortunately, it is definitely possible due to the current coronavirus (COVID-19) guidelines in the U.K.

When we last left the Doctor and her friends

When we last left the Thirteenth Doctor and her companions Ryan Sinclair, Graham O’Brien, and Yasmin Khan, they were still reeling from the shocking events of Doctor Who season 12. The season started with the Doctor and her friends trying to figure out why spies around the world were assassinated by aliens. They are taken by MI6 agents to headquarters where they meet the mysterious “C.” C asks them to investigate what is going on and they agree.

In the process, C gets assassinated himself and they meet a former MI6 agent called “O.” Except, spoiler alert, O isn’t who he appears to be. Instead, he is the Doctor’s biggest enemy, the Master. Haunted by his teasing words about Gallifrey, the Doctor goes to visit her home planet.

She finds it burned and gets a message from the Master: he did it and everything she knows about the Time Lords is wrong because of the Timeless Child being a lie. Adventures ensue and the truth about the Time Lords and the Timeless Child is eventually revealed. It turns out that the Doctor is the Timeless Child and the Time Lords experimented on her to gain their regeneration ability. At the end of the episode, the companions and the Doctor are separated, as they are back on present-day Earth and she is in her TARDIS in the future.

She is then taken by the Judoon and arrested and put in prison for an unknown crime.

Why ‘Doctor Who’ Season 13 might be delayed (and why there’s still some hope it might not be)

Unfortunately for Whovians everywhere, that cliffhanger is where we leave the Doctor. We’re expected to pick up with her adventures in the upcoming special episode “Revolution of the Daleks” and then of course in Doctor Who season 13. However, filming for the latter might need to be delayed. All currently filming BBC shows are being delayed right now.

According to Radio Times, the BBC has stated “In light of the spread of COVID-19, after much consideration, it has been decided that filming on all BBC Studios continuing dramas will be postponed until further notice. The decision was made after the last government update. We will continue to follow the latest news and advice from the World Health Organization and other public health organizations.” Radio Times states that while it might not affect the airings of shows for a while, “the long-term ramifications are still unclear.”

According to another Radio Times article, however, there is some hope. The upcoming special episode “Revolution of the Daleks” was already filmed at the same time as season 12, in winter 2019. The special is supposed to air either at Christmas in 2020 or New Year’s Day in 2021. Doctor Who season 13 is set to film in autumn 2020 and then the show is set to be released sometime later in 2021.

Depending on how the virus progresses in the U.K., it’s definitely possible that filming will take place as planned. If so, the show should be released as expected in 2021. There’s no way of knowing for sure what will happen. For now, all Whovians can do is hope for the best.

Young people who suddenly lose sense of taste and smell are ‘hidden coronavirus carriers’ – The Sun

YOUNG people who suddenly lose their sense of smell or taste could be "hidden carriers" of coronavirus, a top expert is warning.

Currently, the only two official symptoms people are suppose to self-isolate for are if they have a new, continuous cough or a high temperature.

⚠️ Read our coronavirus live blog for the latest news & updates

However, ear, nose and throat specialists are now warning that people who develop loss of smell and taste – a condition known as anosmia or hyposnia (partial loss) – could be facilitating the rapid international spread of Covid-19.

It comes after the number of cases of coronavirus in the UK yesterday rose to 22,444, with the death rate standing at 1,408.

In particular, the British Rhinological Society, who study the nose and sinuses, say they have seen rising numbers of young people in the past month suffering from loss of smell or taste.

And they fear it is these people who are spreading the deadly bug – as they currently do not meet current criteria for testing or self isolation.

British Rhinological Society President Claire Hopkins said: "I have personally seen four patients this week, all under 40, and otherwise asymptomatic except for the recent onset of anosmia — I usually see roughly no more than one a month.

"I think these patients may be some of the hitherto hidden carriers that have facilitated the rapid spread of Covid-19. Unfortunately, these patients do not meet current criteria for testing or self isolation."

A study of international cases by the British Rhinological Society Profession and the British Association of Otorhinolaryngology (ENT UK) found a significant proportion of coronavirus patients reported losing their sense of smell, taste or both.

In Germany, two out of every three cases had anosmia while in South Korea, where testing has been more widespread, thirty percent of patients who tested positive reported anosmia as their major presenting symptom.

Ms Hopkins added: "There is already good evidence from South Korea, China and Italy that significant numbers of patients with proven Covid-19 infection have developed anosmia/hyposmia.

"In addition, there have been a rapidly growing number of reports of a significant increase in the number of patients presenting with anosmia in the absence of other symptoms – this has been widely shared on medical discussion boards by surgeons from all regions managing a high incidence of cases.

"Iran has reported a sudden increase in cases of isolated anosmia, and many colleagues from the US, France and Northern Italy have the same experience."

ENT UK — the umbrella body representing ear, nose and throat specialists — says anyone who develops anosmia should immediately self-isolate, even if they have no other signs of the disease.

Professor Nirmal Kumar, president of ENT, told Sky News: "In young patients, they do not have any significant symptoms such as the cough and fever, but they may have just the loss of sense of smell and taste, which suggests that these viruses are lodging in the nose."

ENT has urged ministers to recognise loss of smell and taste as an official sign of the deadly illness and say they have told Public Health England about the apparent link.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organisation (WHO) also said it is investigating the link between loss of smell and taste and Covid-19.

Last night, the country's top scientist, Sir Patrick Vallance said loss of smell or taste was a feature of coronavirus.

However, he followed it up by saying that it was up to the Chief Medical Officer, Professor Chris Whitty – who himself is currently self-isolating after showing symptoms – to change the official diagnostics list.

Chief Scientific Adviser, Sir Patrick, said: "The symptoms that the Chief Medical Officer has outlined – and the ones that you should self-isolate on – are a persistent new cough or fever.

"Loss of taste and smell is something that can happen with other respiratory viruses.

"It does seem to be a feature of this from what people are reporting and it is something that people should take into account as they think about their symptoms.

"I think it’s for the Chief Medical Officer to decide at what point, if any, diagnostic change takes place in terms of self-isolation.

"Those symptoms we are learning about for this disease are the ones that will get more information on over time but a new cough or fever captures the vast majority of people with this illness."

It's thought that losing the ability to smell or taste could be due to the virus destroying cells in the nose and throat.

Experts say it's something people can commonly experience after having other types of coronaviruses – such as the common cold.

Prof Carl Philpott, of the Norwich Medical School at UEA, said: "Coronaviruses have previously been associated with what we refer to as post-viral olfactory loss– this is smell loss that persists after a cold.

"There are many respiratory viruses that can potentially cause problems with the smell receptors.

"So far with Covid-19, the smell loss appears to be transient but only as time elapses will we know how many people have a more permanent loss."

US scientists also recently claimed that those with Covid-19 might also experience a tummy ache when they have the deadly bug.

A new study, published in the American Journal of Gastroenterology, suggests people might experience digestive issues, such as diarrhoea, when they are infected with coronavirus.

Despite this revelation, people should still be vigilant in looking out for the primary symptoms of coronavirus including a dry cough and high temperature – as Covid-19 primarily attacks the lungs and respiratory system.

Some patients may also have aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose or a sore throat – but these are usually mild and begin gradually.

Who Is 'Tiger King' Star Doc Antle's Son, Kody Antle?

Netflix’s Tiger King documents the unusual life of big cat breeder Joe Exotic. But it also dives into the lives of other animal enthusiasts, including Bhagavan Doc Antle and his son, Kody, who was introduced briefly on the docuseries. After learning about his father’s life, many are wondering who Kody Antle is what he does at his dad’s wildlife park.

Who is ‘Tiger King’ star Kody Antle

As introduced on Tiger King, Kody Antle is Doc Bhagavan Antle’s 30-year-old son. His father is the founder and director of The Institute for Greatly Endangered and Rare Species (T.I.G.E.R.S.) — a wildlife park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

In a 2019 interview for AOL’s My Unconventional Life series, Kody revealed that he’s been living among the exotic animals at his father’s park since he was a baby. And he says that he considers the tigers, lions, monkeys, and elephants he grew up with his real family.

“I was really lucky I was born into this,” Kody says in the interview. “My father started the whole thing about 35 years ago with the animals, so I was just one of them born into the litter. I had tigers as my big sisters and brothers, and I had the elephant as my big sister growing up. And it’s just been a whole life filled with animals.”

Sometimes referred to as the “real-life Tarzan,” Kody says his whole life now revolves around animals, just like his dad. He also admits that he doesn’t really fit in anywhere else.

“It definitely feels like we’re from a different planet when you’re around regular people,” Kody says in the video interview. “Many people don’t have that connection to animals or even understand what it is or what it’s about. People are definitely missing that. And that’s all I feel.”

He has a sister named Tawny

Not much is known about Kody’s family aside from his father, Doc Antle. In an interview with Oxygen, Doc noted that his wife (presumably Kody’s mother) died in a car crash twenty years ago.

However, on social media, Kody did share a video with his sister, Tawny Antle. The two grew up around animals together and they work with their dad to help educate people about exotic wildlife. “It’s a family thing,” Kody captioned the video. “35 years of animal conservation and education — It is our goal to bring wildlife into the hearts and minds of all people.”

On her own Instagram page, Tawny shares pictures of her interactions with the park’s exotic animals. And from the looks of it, she’s just as involved with wild animals as her brother.

Before ‘Tiger King’ aired, Kody Antle already had millions of fans

Our preserve creates an environment that maximizes interaction between trainers and animals, and between the animals themselves. Unobstructed contact between animals at the Preserve creates relationships that wouldn’t otherwise be possible. Our animals interact without fear because they know that their needs for food and shelter are met and that they will always be treated with affection. Living in such comfort liberates the animals from anxiety and allows them to express new dimensions of personality, such as curiosity about animals unlike themselves. The results are truly inspiring.. we also only ever work in a team of care givers. The big cats respect the team that they themselves are members of and strive to belong to have the joyful ongoing experience of the group. New sights, sounds and textures, forests of open territory and swimming is cool clear water is the ultimate big cat desire.

Kody has a pretty big presence on social media. On his Instagram and Tik Tok pages, he posts various videos playing with tigers and chimpanzees, and they’ve earned him millions of followers.

On Instagram, Kody has nearly 1.9 million followers. And on Tik Tok, he’s racked up 11.7 million fans and over 145 million likes on his videos.

Couple who had to cancel dream wedding twice after bride diagnosed with cancer forced to call off AGAIN – The Sun

A COUPLE who have already cancelled their dream wedding twice after the bride was diagnosed with cancer have revealed their THIRD big day will be postponed because of the coronavirus.

But Joanna Phillips, 45, and Jonathan Metcalf, 53, who live in Huncote, Leicestershire, say they're 'still smiling' – and will make sure their day happens in the end.

⚠️ Read our coronavirus live blog for the latest news & updates

They were initially due to get married in Las Vegas in June last year.

But the couple, who have been together for seven years, were forced to call off the wedding when Joanna was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2019.

The pair were determined to get married, and rearranged their ceremony for June this year.

But in September last year, Thomas Cook, who had arranged all their travel, went into administration.

Joanna and Jonathan then booked to get married in the Dominican Republic in May this year.

But now sweeping travel restrictions have been put in place to halt the spread of the coronavirus, which has claimed thousands of lives across the world.

Joanna told the Daily Mail: "We'd only just got our money back from Thomas Cook, and after all that, Vegas just didn't seem right.

"We rearranged again and decided to book for May 28."

Now the couple say they have no idea when their wedding will take place.

A total of 20 guests were due to fly to the Caribbean to celebrate with them in May. The third planned wedding has cost the couple £30,000.

Joanna said: "We don't know if this is all going to be OK again by October or November.

"The prices have already been listed for next year and it would cost us £10,000 more, so I don't know where we'd be able to have it either."

'WE'RE STILL SMILING'

However, they're unable to cancel their wedding completely as it won't be covered by insurance.

Around 250 of the couple's family and friends were also due to attend a reception in the UK later this year.

However, this will also be re-arranged after the government banned all weddings and gatherings of more than two people who don't share a household as part of the Covid-19 lockdown.

Despite the couple's troubles, Joanna, who is in self-isolation for 12 weeks and is continuing her chemotherapy at home, said they're still smiling.

She said: "You couldn't make it up.

"We've still got smiles on our faces. We're staying upbeat because when you're dealing with cancer, it's all irrelevant.

"We just want to have a nice celebration when this is over.

"We did have a day where we considered whether or not it was all worth it, but we know more than ever that this is what we want. It's made us stronger.

"I just want to get that wedding dress on and get down the aisle.

"I've waited 45 years for this, and I'm going to make sure it happens."

Under the government's lockdown, residents are only now allowed to leave their homes for one of four essential reasons:

  • shopping for basic necessities, as infrequently as possible
  • one form of exercise a day –  (a run, walk, or cycle) – alone or with members of your household
  • any medical need, to provide care or to help a vulnerable person
  • travelling to and from work, but only where absolutely necessary and this cannot be done from home

It comes as the death toll in the UK goes past 1,000. But Britain's lockdown is on course to reduce the death rate from 260,000 to 5,700, experts believe.

Celebrity Mamas Who Had Home Births Share Their Stories

We live in a wonderful time of choices when it comes to how and where we can give birth. There are hospitals, birthing centers, hospitals with birthing centers, the occasional taxi, and home. Not so long ago, the latter seemed like a relic of the past that only hippie earth mamas were still doing. But that was before famous models and actors (some of whom, yes, are also hippie earth mamas) started to share their stories of incredible home births.

When everyone from Cindy Crawford to Erykah Badu to Ricki Lake opened up in interviews, essays and social media about the powerful experience of giving birth in their homes, the stigma began to drop away. Other celebs often cite Lake’s documentary The Business of Being Born, as their inspiration for looking into this setting for themselves. Many women in the country followed suit. In 1997, there were 35,578 out-of-hospital births in the U.S., and by 2017, that number increased to 62,228.

Just because it’s trendy, doesn’t mean it’s for everyone, of course. There are many things to consider when making the decision to labor and deliver at home, including your own risk factors and the proximity of a hospital, should something go wrong. And yes, giving birth in a hospital can be a beautiful experience too! But if you’re thinking about this option, you’ll find inspiration in these quotes and stories from famous mothers who had their babies in the comfort (or, yeah, discomfort) of their own homes.

Sister Wives: Who is Stuck in Isolation with Kody Brown?

As we’ve seen play out on every Sister Wives episode this season, Kody Brown wants all his spouses to live under the same roof.

The spouses all hate this idea and construction hasn’t even started on Kody’s dream mansion in Flagstaff yet, which means the women remain spread out at the moment, living on their own and only spending time with Kody on occasion.

At least… that used to be the case.

The United States, as you must know by now, is basically on total lock-down.

Those who are listening to the health experts are rightfully keeping their distance from anyone outside their immediate family —  but this raises an interesting question for a unique family such as the Browns.

Who, exactly, is living with whom?

To be more precise: Who, exactly, is stuck inside all day and night with Kody Brown, who has come across this season like more of a selfish jerk than ever before?

Could it be Meri?

Via social media posts, this often-unhappy Sister Wife has said she was actually scheduled to go on a cruise this month… until the trip was justifiably canceled.

Since then, Meri has posted several photos of herself out in nature or at home with her dog.

We’ve seen nothing on Instagram to indicate she’s spending any time with Kody at all.

Could it be Christine?

Her latest Instagram photo features her at home witha bunch of kids, everyone trying to kill time by trying on some facials.

We don’t see Kody anywhere in the following group snapshot, do you?

Could it be Janelle?

She shared photos this week of a giant snowstorm outside her window, and she also gave props to a local movie theater that is closed… yet is offering folks some of its delicious popcorn.

There are no photos of Kody.

And no mentions of Kody.

Could it be Robyn?

A-ha! We may have a winner!

Kody’s fourth wife has only really shared her thoughts on the Coronavirus pandemic by sharing a link to a TLC-sponsored video that says, in part:

From our family to yours, we wish you love, hope, and a little TLC. #StayHome.

She has NOT shared any pictures of herself alone at home or outside, which leads us to think that she isn’t alone at home or outside.

Our best guess is that Robyn is holed up with Robyn, and will be for the foreseeable future.

And based on what she recently said about her relationship with Kody?

All we have to say in response to this theory is… we’re so very, very, very, very sorry, Robyn. Try to hang in there.

Who Is Demi Lovato's Alleged New Boyfriend Max Ehrich?

Demi Lovato is just one of many celebrities staying home in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, but apparently, she’s not quarantining alone. Lovato has been sharing flirty social media messages with Max Ehrich for a few weeks and recently popped up in one of his Instagram live videos. Now that two are reportedly dating, Lovato fans are wondering who Ehrich is and what he’s all about.

Max Ehrich is an actor and a singer

Max Ehrich is a 28-year-old actor known for his recurring role as Fenmore Baldwin on the CBS soap opera, The Young and the Restless. He’s been on a number of other popular TV shows over the years, including Under the Dome, Ugly Betty, Shake It Up, 100 Things to Do Before High School and The Path. But along with acting, Ehrich continues to pursue a career in music, and he often shares his talent with fans on Instagram. In 2019, he released a single titled “Somebody Else” and his song “Ride” was featured in Walk. Ride. Rodeo. In an interview with Vents Magazine, the singer revealed how his two career paths inspire each other.

“Acting requires me to be very in touch with my emotions and remain open to experiences,” Ehrich told the outlet. “Allowing myself to feel things fully definitely plays a huge factor in being comfortable with the vulnerability of writing a song from the heart.”

Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich have been flirting on social media for some time

Fans began speculating Lovato and Ehrich were dating after the two started leaving heart emojis and flirty comments on their Instagram posts. Ehrich recently shared a shirtless photo of himself with the caption, “when u realize u should’ve packed more for your quarantine stay.” Lovato responded with the flirtatious comment, “Fine by me.”

Ehrich also shared a video of him singing a love song on Instagram with the caption, “4D,” which left fans assuming he meant “for Demi.” In a few of his Instagram stories, Ehrich is cuddling with Lovato’s dogs Elle and Batman, which indicates the two are quarantining together.

He shared a live video and Demi Lovato showed up

Just recently, Ehrich went live on Instagram, and it looked like Lovato popped in without knowing the camera was on. “I’m on live,” he tells her. But when he repeats himself, Demi quickly covers her face and backs out of the shot.

According to E! News, a source close to Lovato said that the two have been dating for “a few weeks” and are currently “quarantining together” in Lovato’s home.

“Max is very into music and health, and he doesn’t like to party,” the source added. “He is a good influence on Demi and they have a lot in common. They have a few mutual friends in common, but Demi has been introducing Max to her closest friends via Facetime since being quarantined. It’s very new but they are definitely hanging out and seeing where it leads. They have spent a lot of time together but I wouldn’t say it’s an exclusive relationship yet.”

TikTok user who LICKED toilet seat in vile ‘coronavirus challenge’ now ‘has killer bug’, Piers Morgan says – The Sun

11

THE TikTok user who licked a toilet seat in a "coronavirus challenge" has been hospitalized with the deadly disease, according to Piers Morgan.

The disgusting video from earlier this month shows the man walking into a public restroom with a duffel bag before squatting next to a toilet seat and licking it twice.

⚠️ Read our coronavirus live blog for the latest news & updates

The man turned to the camera at one point and said: "coronavirus challenge."

He has reportedly since  become ill.

"I think this is called karma – he's got coronavirus," Morgan said on Good Morning Britain, according to The Mirror.

Morgan also questioned why this "moron" is being treated.

"He should be in jail, not taking up a vital hospital bed," the commentator tweeted.

The co-host of Good Morning Britain believes the culprit should face criminal charges.

"These people need to be arrested & charged with attempted murder. I'm serious," Morgan wrote.

The killer bug has killed 17,156 globally and infected nearly 400,000.

More than 800 have died in the US.

This isn't the first time Piers has called for the arrest of someone after they filmed themselves licking objects amid the global coronavirus pandemic.

Morgan aired a clip on the morning show of a man licking a shelf of bottles in a supermarket.

A man in Missouri was charged with making a terrorist threat following the incident at a Walmart.

"Who's afraid of the coronavirus?" Cody Pfister said in the video that would be posted on social media.

Morgan had led calls for his arrest and said he should be denied healthcare if he comes down with the killer bug.

He furiously said: "This is of somebody in America, who went to a supermarket knowing the coronavirus is attacking everyone in the United States and he did this and posted it online.

"What I would like to happen to him is I'd like him found, and I am sure they will get him.

"I would like him put in prison, immediately. And then I would like him deprived of any healthcare should he then get the virus having tried to deliberately give it to potentially lots of other people.

"That might concentrate the minds of these morons and it might concentrate the minds of these morons we have here."
