Sister Wives’ Meri Brown admits her relationship to husband Kody is ‘over’ after years of marital issues – The Sun

MERI Brown’s marriage to her husband, Kody, is over after years of marital strife, she revealed in a preview for Sunday’s Sister Wives.

Meri, 49, made the shocking admission during a marriage counseling session with Kody, 51.

The first wife said their relationship has been “pretty rocky.”

She continued: “People ask me all the time why I don’t leave.

“The relationship between he and I is gone, it’s dead, it’s over.”

Kody then explained how they had a “very fast courtship.”

He added: “I didn’t know who I was marrying. I am just done with hearing how am wrong.”

In another preview for the episode, he said: “We’re family, but we’re not acting married.”

Meri responded: “He doesn’t want to move forward with trying to work things out with me.”

He fired back: “I can never be honest because she’s unable to move away from being the victim.”

Kody and Meri married in 1990 and welcomed one daughter, Mariah, together.

He went on to marry Janelle in 1993, Christine in 1994 and Robyn in 2014.

Kody divorced Meri, his only legal wife at the time, in 2014 to be able to adopt Robyn’s children from a previous marriage.

Then, Meri was involved in a catfish scandal where she fell in love with another man over the Internet.

But the man ended up being a woman.

Their marital issues continued from there, as she said on an episode last season: "It’s hard to be here and work on these relationships in the family.

"I’m looking in from the outside. I don’t feel like I have a husband and wife relationship.”

Meri sparked trouble in paradise by not posting a photo with Kody since January 2019.

She has also went on multiple vacations over the last two years without her husband.

Earlier this week, Meri cryptically posted: “Walk away from anything that gives you bad vibes. There is no need to explain it or make sense of it.”

On last week’s episode, Meri was brought to tears when she found her marriage certificate.

When Robyn joked about “burning” theirs, Meri cried in her confessional:  “It’s valid in my heart. That’s why I keep it.”

'Sister Wives': Kody Brown Says the 'Strain' In His Relationship With Robyn Brown Is 'Pathetic'

It’s no secret that Kody Brown and his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, have fought all season long on TLC’s Sister Wives.

After the Brown family’s move from Las Vegas to Flagstaff, the entire polygamist brood was under a lot of logistical and financial strain. What with frequent moves from one rental to another and arguments over when they should start building new homes on Coyote Pass (their property in Arizona), there seemed to be no shortage of tension.

Kody and Robyn argued the most, especially when Robyn pushed to move to another rental instead of buying so as not to delay the construction on Coyote Pass. Kody eventually got his way and put an offer on a home for Robyn and her five children with just days to spare before their move-out date at their previous rental.

On the Mar. 29 of Sister Wives, “The Heat Is On,” it was clear that Kody and Robyn’s ongoing argument about real estate was starting to bleed into other areas of their marriage. Kody admitted that his relationship with Robyn was suffering under the strain and that he truly didn’t know how to fix the problem.

Robyn said buying a home made her feel like a traitor

While Robyn finally accepted that she and Kody needed to put an offer on a house in order to have somewhere for their five children to feel safe and secure, she certainly wasn’t happy about how it had turned out.

“Buying this house makes me feel like I’m betraying my family and my kids,” the Sister Wives star admitted. “Buying this house will actually delay us moving out to the property.”

The 41-year-old mom of five added that the whole ordeal hadshaken her trust in both her faith and her husband. “I’ve really struggled withhow things have worked out,” Robyn confessed. “I don’t understand God’sreasoning. This house was perfect for us in so many ways. We’re kind of back tothis crazy storm of not knowing what’s going to happen next.”

With tears in her eyes, Robyn told her husband that shestill wasn’t completely over the idea of finding another rental home. “I just needto keep looking for rentals,” she said in desperation. “And I guess, whathappens, happens. But I don’t know how to let go of that yet.”

Kody sadly lamented the fact that Robyn couldn’t find a wayto be happy about their new home. “I guess there’s just no point in trying tobe joyful about this purchase,” the Sister Wives star ventured.

“I just don’t know how right now,” his wife told him.

Kody and his fourth wife argued over where to park U-Hauls full of their belongings on Coyote Pass

On the latest episode of Sister Wives, the strain of the ongoing power struggle between Kody and Robyn seemed to color almost all of their interactions. They began to argue over even the simplest and most mundane of tasks, which was new in their usually amicable relationship.

The polygamist couple headed out to Coyote Pass to store two U-Hauls full of their belongings in between moves. Kody planned to park the trailers up a hill, while Robyn insisted they park them on flat land.

“Are you crazy?” Robyn asked her husband as they bickeredback and forth. “You can’t park up a hill with a U-Haul full of stuff.”Finally, Kody conceded and wearily agreed to park the U-Hauls where his wifewanted him to.

Still, it was clear that the issue didn’t have much to dowith parking at all, but with Robyn’s desire to have control over something whenshe felt completely out of control in her marriage and her life.

“I don’t usually hardline with Kody like this. It’s rare,” Robyn explained. “I’m usually more diplomatic. I’m not being diplomatic. I don’t care what he says today. I’m getting my way on this.”

The polygamist couple explained that they were ‘at odds’ about just about everything these days

The Sister Wives couple reflected sadly on their strained marriage since their move to Flagstaff. Both admitted that they were arguing about nearly everything now because of their underlying, ongoing argument about renting or buying.

“This whole situation that we’re in right now, with movingout of the house and where we go next, has been a major, major issue for Kodyand I,” Robyn lamented. “We have been at odds for months, and there’s noresolution in sight. And it’s really been wearing on us.”

Kody told TLC producers, “Because we are at odds with eachother on buying or renting a house, it’s hard not to be at odds in many things. It just puts a strain on the relationship.”

The dad of 18 added emotionally, “It’s ridiculous. It’spathetic, and it makes me feel terrible.”

Sister Wives: Who is Stuck in Isolation with Kody Brown?

As we’ve seen play out on every Sister Wives episode this season, Kody Brown wants all his spouses to live under the same roof.

The spouses all hate this idea and construction hasn’t even started on Kody’s dream mansion in Flagstaff yet, which means the women remain spread out at the moment, living on their own and only spending time with Kody on occasion.

At least… that used to be the case.

The United States, as you must know by now, is basically on total lock-down.

Those who are listening to the health experts are rightfully keeping their distance from anyone outside their immediate family —  but this raises an interesting question for a unique family such as the Browns.

Who, exactly, is living with whom?

To be more precise: Who, exactly, is stuck inside all day and night with Kody Brown, who has come across this season like more of a selfish jerk than ever before?

Could it be Meri?

Via social media posts, this often-unhappy Sister Wife has said she was actually scheduled to go on a cruise this month… until the trip was justifiably canceled.

Since then, Meri has posted several photos of herself out in nature or at home with her dog.

We’ve seen nothing on Instagram to indicate she’s spending any time with Kody at all.

Could it be Christine?

Her latest Instagram photo features her at home witha bunch of kids, everyone trying to kill time by trying on some facials.

We don’t see Kody anywhere in the following group snapshot, do you?

Could it be Janelle?

She shared photos this week of a giant snowstorm outside her window, and she also gave props to a local movie theater that is closed… yet is offering folks some of its delicious popcorn.

There are no photos of Kody.

And no mentions of Kody.

Could it be Robyn?

A-ha! We may have a winner!

Kody’s fourth wife has only really shared her thoughts on the Coronavirus pandemic by sharing a link to a TLC-sponsored video that says, in part:

From our family to yours, we wish you love, hope, and a little TLC. #StayHome.

She has NOT shared any pictures of herself alone at home or outside, which leads us to think that she isn’t alone at home or outside.

Our best guess is that Robyn is holed up with Robyn, and will be for the foreseeable future.

And based on what she recently said about her relationship with Kody?

All we have to say in response to this theory is… we’re so very, very, very, very sorry, Robyn. Try to hang in there.

'Sister Wives': Robyn Brown Tells Kody Brown To Stop 'Freaking Out Her Kids' In Sneak Peek

Robyn and Kody Brown have been at each other’s throats throughout TLC’s Sister Wives Season 14 over the Browns’ controversial move from Las Vegas to Flagstaff.

After the polygamist couple’s latest rental home was sold by the owner, Kody’s fourth wife wanted to find another rental so the Brown family’s move out to their shared Arizona land, Coyote Pass, wouldn’t be delayed. Meanwhile, Kody insisted they find a home to buy so their five children together would have a safe place to stay.

A sneak peek of the upcoming Mar. 22 episode of Sister Wives, “Robyn vs. Kody,” reveals the couple is still hashing out the same argument. Robyn is frustrated with Kody for frightening and unsettling their children, while Kody says he would “part ways” with Robyn if she was his business partner instead of his wife.

Kody and Robyn fight explosively in one TLC preview

In TLC’s preview of the upcoming Sister Wives episode, Kody gets down to business about buying a home. The polygamist patriarch insists that they have only days to make an offer, and Robyn needs to stop putting it off. “We have to buy a house, or we have to move out of town,” the father of 18 demands in the sneak peek.

Meanwhile, it looks like Robyn is still holding on to theidea of finding a rental. “I’ve got five days for my miracle to come,” shelaments, looking despondent.

Robyn and Kody’s two oldest daughters, Aurora and Breanna Brown, panic as Kody tells them meaningfully, “We’re down to the wire. We’re moving out of this house, or the sheriff is gonna move us.”

Robyn yells about Kody ‘freaking out her kids’ as the couple argues

In the rest of the Sister Wives preview clip, the stress of Robyn and Kody’s ongoing marital conflicts and insecure housing situation continues to affect their kids.

“We have to leave our home,” Kody tells Ari Brown, the couple’syoungest daughter, as he kneels down and holds her hand.

And it looks like Robyn has had enough—especially because17-year-old Aurora has recently been experiencing severe panic attacks due toher fights with Kody. “Don’t freak out my kids anymore!” Robyn explodes in an interviewwith Sister Wives producers.

Kody’s not happy, either. “If her and I were businesspartners, this is where we would part ways,” he says of his fourth wife. Meanwhile,Robyn melts down in tears as she insists, “We can still keep looking for rentals.”

Finally, exploding in frustration, Kody yells, “I could have stayed in Las Vegas! I’d have saved a fortune!”

‘Sister Wives’ fans flocked to the sneak peek clip to share their reactions

On the Sister Wives Facebook page, fans flocked to the latest preview clip to react to Robyn and Kody’s ongoing argument.

Several viewers were surprised that Kody and Robyn seemed tobe falling apart at the seams. “And now Robyn sees the real Kody stand up yourhoneymoon phase is over I am afraid,” one fan commented.

Another Sister Wives viewer thought Robyn and Kody shouldn’t bring their marital stress around their children. “Robyn has to calm down if she expects her daughter to stop having panic attacks,” one Facebook commenter argued. “Their household is so stressful. These little family meetings about moving are just so high stress and dramatic. It just doesn’t have to be that way.”

Other Sister Wives fans argued that Kody didn’t wantto accept responsibility for the housing and financial issues his family wasfacing, even though his choices had caused many of them. “Kody doesn’t want toaccept responsibility,” one commenter wrote. “It was his idea to move toFlagstaff.”

Another agreed, writing, “Kody as usual is placing blameeverywhere but where it belongs. Squarely on HIS shoulders. He also needs tostop burdening his children with adult issues.”

'Sister Wives': Meri Brown Just Proved Kody and Robyn Break the Family's Rules

The Brown family doesn’t seem to be getting along. When fansmet the family back in 2010, everything seemed to be going reasonably well.Sure, the alternative family hit a road bump or two when they added RobynBrown to the family after more than 15 years as a family that includedthree wives and one husband, but everything seemed to settle down when thefamily put down roots in Las Vegas. A second move to Flagstaffhas sent them into a state of flux once again, and while Kody Brown, the family’spatriarch, is trying to get everything under control, his first wife, MeriBrown, just pointed out that Kody and Robyn break one significant familyrule.

What rules do the Browns follow?

When the Brown family was first introduced to the world on SisterWives, they insisted they had rules that ensured their family ran smoothly, and that jealousy was kept to a minimum. One of the big rules they apparentlyhad for more than a decade was to keep the conversations between each wife and Kodyprivate.

In short, it seemed like they avoided conversing about each other with Kody if it could be helped at all. Instead of having side conversations about each other, the Browns focus on bringing issues to a roundtable, where everyone can weigh in on drama at the same time. The whole goal, apparently, was to cut down on jealousy. The Talko notes that they also avoid displays of affection for the same reason.

Kody and Robyn aren’t following the conversation rules

Robyn blatantly stated, during theMar. 1 episode, that Kody had told her that Meri wanted to live in a homeencased in the trees on the property they purchased ahead of their move to Flagstaff.Meri shot back by informing Robyn that Kody had relayed the conversation wrong. The discussion culminated in a heated argument between Kody and Robyn, buteagle-eyed fans note that the wives revealed that they don’t always follow thefamily’s rules.

If Robyn and Kody are discussing what Meri wants privately, they are having a conversation about another wife without her consent andwithout her present. That seems like a big no-no in the family, but it’s farfrom the first time that the pair have crossed a line. In fact, they broke theno kissing rule before they were married, too.

Meri and Robyn seemingly formed an alliance years ago

While Christine Brown, Janelle Brown and Meri have primarily abided by family rules, albeit often with some resentment, Kody and Robyn seem to throw caution to the wind somewhat regularly. The couple allegedly kissed before marriage and may have had a far more sexual relationship before tying the knot than they’d like viewers to think.

While it’s been long suggested that Kody only has arelationship with his fourth wife, things have gotten pretty tense between themrecently. In fact, Kody even suggested he’dconsider ending the marriage if he didn’t get his way. Fans pointed outthat Robyn was suddenly falling out of favor because she no longer agreed witheverything he said. Many fans think the announcement of afifth wife is forthcoming, but that remains to be seen.

Sister Wives' Kody Yells at Robyn for Taking Meri's Side in Latest Drama

Kody Brown is not happy. During the Sunday, March 1, episode of Sister Wives, the reality star, 51, snaps on Robyn Brown when she defends Meri Brown‘s choice of land.

However, it seems like the issue runs deeper than just real estate.

“I am so sick of trying to accommodate Meri,” he says during an interview. “I’m so angry now. I’m so angry, I almost can’t talk.”

While Meri, 49, isn’t there to defend herself, Robyn, 41, tries to stand up for her — which just annoys Kody more. “She won’t be happy unless she has all of you bowing at her feet, waiting on her,” he tells Robyn.

She quickly responds, “Stop saying s–t like that!”

In a later interview, Kody says he believes the women would rather fight with him than with each other. “In some ways, they’re taking Meri’s side on this,” he says. “That’s their prerogative.”

During the Sunday, February 23, episode, Kody revealed he wasn’t thrilled that his wives spend time together.

“When I was younger, it used to be a lot of pleasure to me when I’d see my wives goofing off and playing and having fun together. I’m jaded, I guess,” Kody said in the episode. “I just don’t see plural marriage in the same light that I used to. I’m struggling with plural marriage and I’m struggling with my wives and I’m struggling with their conflict. We’re at a stage in our lives now where were far apart and we’re struggling with getting along.”

Sister Wives season 9 airs on TLC Sundays at 10 p.m. ET.
