Soups and stews
And it doesn’t end there, she continued: “ Add them to soups, stews and everything mince-y to make the taste richer.
“In addition to the enriched flavour it helps with making them a bit thicker.”
Finally, Ligia explained how OXO cubes make incredible roasties.
She said: “A nifty trick when making roast potatoes is to crumble a cube over the potatoes before cooking them.
“This adds a really pleasant colour and extra flavour to them and makes them extra special.”
Callum Graham, Head Chef of Bohemia at & Spa also uses stock cubes on his chicken – but, as a marinade.
He explained: “OXO cubes make a great base for marinating meat as it adds a real depth of flavour – one of my favourite ways to use it is to make spicy chicken.
“Get 2tbsps of yoghurt, and then crumble in an OXO cube, and add 1tsp each of cumin, paprika, garlic powder and turmeric, then a pinch of chilli powder."
He continued: “Stir the mixture until combined, and then spread evenly over a whole chicken.”
“Cut a lemon in quarters and then place inside the chicken, before putting it into a 200degrees pre-heated oven for one hour.
“Remove from the oven and cover with foil, then leave to rest for 20 minutes before serving. Delicious!”
