Now both men have had the luxury of a full camp to prepare, we look at what other stars are predicting will happen in the rematch:

Francis Ngannou (UFC heavyweight champ)

“Before everything, we are in Jacksonville next weekend. Not to take part but to take over with my brother Kamaru Usman who’s fighting in the main event.

“Huge fight, huge match. So, we [are] going to be there, give him some love, some support, stand on his side.

“It’s gonna be huge. Huge fight. I’m going to be there myself. I think that fight will be [a] candidate for the fight of the year.”

Leon Edwards, UFC welterweight

“If I had to put money on it, I’d probably favor Usman. I just can’t see what Masvidal could do different.

“He’s the smaller man, he doesn’t look strong in the clinch. His wrestling isn’t great.

“I just can’t see what he does that’s gonna be amazing to switch up his style. He’s fought the same way for a long time.”

Daniel Cormier, former UFC champ

“I think that we’re gonna see a much better fight between these two.

“Is Jorge good enough to close the gap? I don’t know. It’s a tall hill to climb, man.

“Usman is as good as they come and Masvidal is going to have to fight the absolute perfect fight in order to beat him. But if anybody has that ability, it’s Jorge Masvidal.”

Colby Covington, UFC welterweight

“[Masvidal] going to get beat by Usman and there’s only going to be one man left standing at the top and that’s me.”

Justin Gaethje, UFC lightweight

“His best chance was short notice. He is f***d now.

“The more time we have to plan for him, the better. He manned up to take this one again, I will give him that. But, yeah it’s going to be ugly.”

Tyron Woodley, UFC welterweight

“I don’t know. I’m going to root for Masvidal. But it’s a good fight, we all know what Usman is capable of doing and although Masvidal didn’t have six or seven days notice to face him, he’s always training and I think Usman also has to prepare for a very, very different opponent as well.

“So they’re both going to have more time to prepare for each other I think it’s going to be a good fight. But, if I have to pull for somebody, of course I’m going to pull for Masvidal.”

Alexander Volkanovski, UFC featherweight champ

“Obviously Masvidal was short notice [in the first fight], but I do see a pretty similar result.

“But I’ll be watching, definitely tuning in for three title fights. But I think it’ll be a similar result.”
