Back in 1988, Queen laid down an epic 30 tracks in their recording sessions for their 13th studio album The Miracle. Of course, not all of the band’s new songs made it onto the record a year later and now Brian May and Roger Taylor are releasing six from the vault as part of a special edition next month. Ahead of this, they debuted the previously unheard single Face It Alone complete with Freddie Mercury’s vocals which were recorded during a period when his AIDS diagnosis had not yet been made public.

Since Face It Alone’s launch last Friday, the Freddie Mercury Queen song has debuted at No 1 on the UK Rock chart, something Brian and Roger celebrated together over dinner with We Will Rock You musical writer Ben Elton.

The band has also announced the track has been No 1 in 21 countries on the iTunes download chart across the following nations: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

On top of this, Face It Alone hit the Top 10 in Chile, Cyprus, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Turkey, United States, Canada, Peru, Australia, Ireland, Argentina, South Africa, Brazil, Greece, Slovakia, Colombia and Paraguay.

If that wasn’t enough, the song is getting its very own music video this Friday, premiering on Queen’s official YouTube channel.

Queen announced the Face It Alone video will premiere in the embedded video below at 8am BST on Friday October 21, which is 3am EST and 12am PST for US fans.

On the uncovered track’s release, Brian enthused: “I’m happy that our team were able to find this track.  After all these years, it’s great to hear all four of us … yes, Deacy is there too … working in the studio on a great song idea which never quite got completed … until now!”

The other unheard five tracks like Dog With A Bone, I Guess We’re Falling Out and You Know You Belong To Me will feature on a special hour-plus disc on the new box set The Miracle Collector’s Edition.

Queen The Miracle Collector’s Edition is released on November 18 alongside a vinyl of Face It Alone.

Also included in the special box set is a treasure trove of original takes, demos and rough cuts, along with behind-the-scenes recordings of Freddie, Brian, Roger and John Deacon bantering, debating and joking around the studio.

The 8-Disc Book Set In Vinyl LP/5CD/DVD/Blu-ray can be pre-ordered here. As fans wait for Friday, here are the official lyrics for Face It Alone:

When something so near and dear to life,
Explodes inside,
You feel your soul,
Is set on fire.

When something so deep and so far and wide,
Falls down beside,
Your cries can be heard,
So loud and clear.

Your life is your own,
You’re in charge of yourself,
Master of your home,
In the end,
In the end,
You have to face it all alone.

When something so dear to your life,
Explodes inside,
You feel your soul,
Is burned alive (burned alive).

When something so deep and so far and wide,
Falls down beside,
Your cries can be heard,
So loud and clear.

Your life is your own,
You’re in charge of yourself,
Master of your home,
In the end,
In the end,
You have to face it alone.

When the moon has lost its glow,
When the moon has lost its glow,
When the moon has, when the moon has lost its glow,
When the moon, when the moon has lost its glow,
You have to face it all alone.
