Princess Anne and Prince Charles are working members of the Royal Family. They are the eldest children of the Queen but a body language expert suggested they are very different when in public.

Both Princess Anne and Prince Charles have made official royal appearances for many years.

While they are the closest in age of all of the Queen’s four children, how they do their job may be different.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, body language expert Darren Stanton suggested Princess Anne is more “confident” than her brother.

He said: “One picture is fascinating, with Prince Charles, the Queen and Princess Anne in shot.

“It’s clear from certain expressions that Anne is the most confident, in my opinion, of all the royal children.

“Princess Anne has always struck me as the kind of royal who attends events, functions and duties and then likes to leave rather than engaging in small talk with other members of the family.”

When the royal siblings have been seen together, Darren claimed Anne is “self-assured” while Prince Charles is “less than confident”.

“Princess Anne seems confident and self-assured,” he added.

“Prince Charles touching his clothing is a self reassurance gesture.

“Prince Charles regularly tucks one hand inside his jacket or plays with a cuff link in situations where he feels less than confident.”

For some official events, Prince Charles and Princess Anne will wear military uniforms.

This is because the Princess Royal is an honorary rear admiral while Prince Charles served in the Navy.

During one outing where they were both in uniform, Princess Anne still appeared more “dominant” than her brother, the expert claimed.

He continued to say Princess Anne may consider herself to be the “stronger personality”.

Darren said: “The next shot is Prince Charles in full Naval uniform standing to attention.

“He is followed closely by Princess Anne who is also in full uniform.

“It is clear from the pair’s posture that Princess Anne is more the confident royal.

“She has a strong stance and posture.

“I’ve also analysed the pair in other situations and the pressure remains the same.

“It seems Anne considers herself to be the stronger and more dominant personality.”
