Police station temporarily closed after coronavirus scare

Ringwood police station was closed on Tuesday night after an on-duty officer was told they had been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19.

A statement from Victoria Police posted to Facebook early Wednesday morning said the station, in Melbourne's east, was professionally cleaned overnight and had now reopened.

"The officer involved has self-isolated," police said.

"Take care everyone and keep a 'social distancing' eye on one another."
