New Balance 920 "Year of the Ox" Celebrates CNY

A hybrid silhouette that draws from the 900 and 1000 series and is produced exclusively at New Balance‘s Flimby, UK factory for a nod to the latter line, the New Balance 920 is one of the brand’s most compelling modern-day lifestyle models. It was first introduced back in 2020, has since served as the centerpiece of a Patta collaboration and has now released in a “Year of the Ox” colorway that celebrates the Chinese New Year.

As is par for the course with seemingly any CNY-themed sneaker these days, this 920 is dressed in a combination of red, gold and black. Red takes up prime position on the mesh, suede and synthetic upper while gold is used for embellishment on the midfoot N logo, text hits on the tongue and heel and a touch of detail towards the forefoot. Lastly, black arrives around the tongue/throat as well as on the forefoot and collar.

Moving down below, trim ENCAP midsoles offer a shape reminiscent of the 990v3 and are split between white and gray, with a black heel clip and black carbon fiber plate adding further support. For a finishing touch, black insoles are stamped with a gold foil “CNY” graphic.

The New Balance 920 “Year of the Ox” is available now at retailers like Oneness, and is priced at $230 USD.
