Needles Prepares for Warm Weather With Newest "Papillon Komon" Collection

After pulling back the curtains for its collaborations with Dr. Martens and Wrangler Japan, NEEDLES is now taking a moment to turn our attention back to its in-line initiatives. The Japanese brand’s latest collection entitled the “Papillon Komon” capsule features a range of Spring/Summer-ready apparel pieces along with various patterned shower slides.

Much like the brand’s recently unveiled ’70s-inspired FW21 collection, it’s the heavy utilization of patterns here that do all of the legwork. Lead designer Keizo Shimizu pulls influence from traditional Japanese kimono patterns and remixes them in a way that sees the NEEDLES signature butterfly graced across several silky apparel silhouettes including that of short-sleeved track jackets, long-sleeved shirts, poly mesh cardigans and track pants. These items come prepared with either black/brown or black/purple color-blocking. Moreover, the all-over prints also see their way to a few shower slides that are presented in the similar colors.

For the more understated pieces in the collection, NEEDLES is proffering up Cowboy button up shirts and shorts that come in a simply matte gray.

The full collection is expected to launch via Nepenthes on March 12, 2021 and prices for the items range from ¥7,800-24,000 (approx. $72-$221 USD).

Previously, NEEDLES unveiled an assortment of Summer-ready tracksuits and shorts.
