Picking the perfect name for your baby is undoubtedly exciting, but it can also be daunting finding something that you are confident they will always love as much as you do.

While some parents hand down family names or pay tribute to a relative, others opt for something they love the sound of or that has a special meaning.

The list of 2021’s most popular baby names is in and there are some new additions joining monikers that have frequently featured in the top 10 before.

Olivia and Amelia have maintained their popularity while other names have increased in popularity after TV shows, such as Aria from Game Of Thrones.

Plus, there is a new girls’ name in the top spot, Lily – which may well have been influenced by the naming of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby daughter, born earlier this month.

The royal trend also continues with Elizabeth edging back into the top 100 for the first time this decade.

Other new names to feature in the top 100 are Elodie, Gabriella, Maeve and Ariana.
