Miley Cyrus, 28, has opened up about her turbulent marriage to actor Liam Hemsworth.
In a candid chat, the Angels Like You singer admitted she still loves Liam 'very very much' but the romance had to end.
Miley said that after their Malibu home was destroyed in November 2018 by horrific fires she desperately clung on to anything of her old life.
"I don't know if we ever really thought we were actually going to get married,' the music icon told Howard Stern.
"I just clung to what I had left of that house, which was me and him, and I really do and did love him very, very, very much."
She added of the romance: "When I come home, I want to be anchored by someone I don't get off on drama or fighting."
Miley is now single after splitting with Cody Simpson while Liam is dating model Gabriella Brooks.
Miley and Liam met while filming Nicholas Sparks film The Last Song in 2009.
They dated on and off for three years before becoming engaged in 2012.
Sadly within less than 12 months they called off their engagement and went their separate ways.
However, in 2015 they rekindled their romance and tied the knot with in an intimate ceremony in December 2018.
By August 2019 they had split again – this time for good.
A statement by Miley's rep at the time said: "Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time.
"Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.
"They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy."
Speaking frankly about her sexual fluidity, Miley told Elle magazine: "I think it’s very confusing to people that I’m married. But my relationship is unique.
"I don’t know that I would ever publicly allow people in there because it’s so complex, and modern, and new that I don’t think we’re in a place where people would get it.
"I mean, do people really think that I’m at home in a f—ing apron cooking dinner?
"I’m in a hetero relationship, but I still am very sexually attracted to women."
