Supermarket opening hours are notoriously difficult to pin down during Bank Holidays, and are subject to change or vary from store to store. Sainsbury’s, Lidl and Aldi are undoubtedly going to be on everyone’s last-minute shopping trips over Easter weekend, especially with Good Friday kicking off the celebrations.
What are Lidl’s opening hours for Good Friday?
If you’re planning on heading down to Lidl on April 2, you’re in luck.
The supermarket’s website states all of its opening hours across their stores in England, Wales and Scotland, but has made it clear that selected stores across Britain can vary.
So check via Lidl’s store finder here to see when your local shop will be open.
Due to Scotland not recognising the Easter weekend as a Bank Holiday, they are exempt from any closures or changes to their opening hours.

However, Wales and England will see some changes over the Easter period.
Good Friday is luckily a day where the store will be open as normal, but they will be closed completely on Easter Sunday, so get down while you can.
Good Friday opening hours for Aldi
As it varies from store to store, the best way to find out what time your local Aldi is open is to use their store locator.
Also, it’s worth bearing in mind that Aldi opens a half-hour early for vulnerable and elderly customers from Monday through to Saturday, and it will still apply throughout the Easter period.
With that in mind, the general opening hours are as follows:
Aldi’s normal opening hours are 8am until 10pm, but Bank Holidays will affect this for stores in England and Wales only.
On Good Friday, Aldi will be operating with reduced hours and will only be open between the hours of 8am and 8pm.
Easter Saturday will see the hours return to normal, and on Easter Sunday the store will be closed.
When will Sainsbury’s be open on Good Friday?
Sainsbury’s opening hours will differ this week too, and you should check the store locator to find out the exact hours for your local store.
Sainsbury’s has not confirmed opening hours for its stores just yet, but it seems stores will be open on Good Friday from 8am till 8pm.
On Easter Saturday, normal opening hours will resume, which are 7am till 10pm.
As expected, Sainsbury’s will be closed on Easter Sunday and reopen on Easter Monday at 8am until 8pm.
