Korean label Eastlogue has long been fascinated with utility, delivering useful layering pieces every season as it simultaneously explores the boundaries of workwear and military clothing. A collaboration with Gramicci seems long overdue, if anything, so its appropriate that the duo finally linked up for a special collection that launched this past weekend.
Taking on the mantra of “A Second Layer,” the lineup is rife with dual-toned gabardine shorts and pants, replacing Gramicci’s classic cotton twill with something softer but no less durable. The inorganic textile is as lightweight as tropical wool but far sturdier and stretchier, making it a good complement to Gramicci’s climbing-inspired bottoms. Additional D-rings on the belt loops and deep pockets double down on utility.
Muted black and charcoal goods make for subdued counterparts to the drop’s more adventurous mismatched items, with Gramicci’s signature self-belt co-branded and rendered in olive to both heighten the visual interplay and match the green stitching seen throughout. A tiny shoulder pouch accompanies the otherwise pants-only delivery, sporting webbing pockets and zippered stash sections sizeable enough to hold a wallet or smarthphone.
Shop the entire Eastlogue x Gramicci collection on FR8IGHT’s web store for ₩129,000 KRW (approximately $115 USD) to ₩159,000 KRW (approximately $142 USD) aside from the ₩59,000 KRW bag (approximately $52 USD).
