    ARGENTINA 1-0 URUGUAY

15, If you Google 'that's been coming' or look it up on Wikipedia, there will probably be a snapshot of this opening 15 minutes.

Argentina all over a poor Uruguay team and deservedly ahead.

    ARGENTINA 1-0 URUGUAY

13, Guido Rodriguez heads Argentina into an early lead and it's just what they deserve for this flying start – Uruguay simply haven't turned up.

Lionel Messi was the architect as he got to the byline and floated in a cross from the left to the far post.

Rodriguez's header back across goal went in off the post and he turned to celebrate with his team-mates.

    Perfect start for Argentina.

    GOALLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!

Argentina have the lead. Rodriguez scores.

    ARGENTINA 0-0 URUGUAY

9, Otamendi with the header… held by Muslera.

I make that the third save from the Uruguay goalkeeper already.

Bright start from Argentina, but Uruguay have been awful.

    ARGENTINA 0-0 URUGUAY

7, Messi cutting in from the right flank and gets his shot away… but Muslera is down to save.

Messi was just allowed to run exactly where he wanted to and get a shot away unchallenged, but fortunately for Uruguay it wasn't close enough to the far corner.

    Uruguay haven't woken up yet.

    ARGENTINA 0-0 URUGUAY

4, Long-range effort from Acuna… and saved by Muslera.

Straight at the goalkeeper to be fair and not really causing him any problems.

Acuna instantly showing why he's been picked in an attacking sense instead of Tagliafico at left-back.

    ARGENTINA 0-0 URUGUAY

2, Messi instantly looking to get on the front foot as Argentina win the ball high up the field.

A few minutes later Lautaro Martinez also finds some space in behind before being crowded out.

    Sluggish opening from Uruguay.

    PEEEEEEEEEPPPP

Off we go in Brasilia. Argentina in their traditional white and sky blue stripes.

Uruguay in their usual blue shirts and black shorts.

    IN GROUP B

It’s been plain sailing for hosts Brazil so far with wins over Venezuela (3-0) and Peru (4-0).

Colombia are just behind them on four points while Ecuador are yet to win.

Brazil play Colombia in their next game on June 23 in the biggest game of that group.

Anyway, back to tonight, teams on their way.

    WHAT’S NEXT?

Argentina have two easier games to come (on paper, anyway) against Paraguay and Bolivia.

Uruguay take on Chile in a tasty encounter next up and will also end with Bolivia and Paraguay clashes.

    ARGENTINA FORM

Since the national teams linked up earlier this month, Argentina have been frustrated with three straight draws.

There were held in both World Cup qualifiers just before this tournament – 1-1 vs Chile and 2-2 vs Colombia – and again by Chile on Sunday night in their Copa America opener.

Messi and Co would love to finally taste victory and get their campaign properly underway.

    OFF THE MARK

I promised you Chile news, and that's what I will deliver.

They beat Bolivia 1-0 earlier thanks to a first ever international goal from Ben Brereton.

The 22-year-old was born in Stoke-on-Trent and plays for Blackburn in the Championship.

He made his debut for Chile against Argentina a few days ago and is now off the mark in front of goal with a winner.

    STATE OF PLAY

Tonight is the second match day in Group A.

Chile bear Bolivia 1-0 earlier (more on that in a moment).

Argentina and Chile drew 1-1 in the opening game on Sunday night before Paraguay beat Bolivia 3-1 later in the evening.

Four teams out of five go through to the quarter-finals so there is some wriggle room and margin for error.

    CHANGES

I make that four changes for Argentina from their 1-1 draw with Chile – Montiel, Martinez, Tagliafico and Paredes all out.

Uruguay's first side of the tournament looks like a tasty one with Suarez and Cavani reunited.

This should be fun. The mascot is pumped anyway…
