Royal fans think James Middleton looks JUST like nephew Prince George as his new shaved look splits opinion

Kate Middleton's brother, James Middleton, did what a whole host of others are doing during lockdown recently and took things into his own hands on the hair front, shaving off his beard for the first time in seven years.

Taking to Instagram, the 32 year old could be seen, razor in hand, sitting in the back of a truck surrounded by his dogs, in a clip captioned: “It’s been 7 years since I last shaved, so I decided to surprise Alizee…”

And showing off dramatic results, James, who filmed the clip at Kate Middleton’s parents Carole and Michael’s home, where he is isolating with his French fiancée Alizee Thevenet, looked unrecognisable as he revealed his look, post-beard.

Fans have since jumped on Twitter, revealing a strong divide over whether he looks better or worse after the lockdown shave.

One person posted: “Much better, so handsome,” and a second, agreeing, wrote: “Love the clean shaven look.”

A third, who couldn’t pick a side, penned: “Honestly, I like both! Smooth makes you look a bit younger, but the beard was distinguished. You can always grow one again.”

Some, however, weren’t as fond of James’ new clean shaven appearance, with one writing: “Oh I love this and I love you did it on the back of your truck. Grow it back though.”

Writing on the video, James penned: “Alizee has never seen me without a beard,” and can be heard saying in the clip: “Seeming as Alizee and myself were due to get married this month, she's never seen me without a beard.

“I thought it was about time to show her what's behind it. In fact, what I'm most worried about is that these lots might not recognise me after. Say goodbye!”

Kate Middleton’s stunning family home is located in Bucklebury, Berkshire, and in the videos we catch a glimpse of it as James rushes to the house to show off his face without a beard.

Carole, 65, and Michael Middleton, 75, are enjoying a glass of wine at an outdoor table during the clip, in a garden featuring trimmed hedges and beautiful flower displays.

A wheelbarrow brimming with foliage can be seen resting on the stone area where the Middleton’s are seated and an excitable Alizee rushes up to James, post-shave, and says: “Ahhh omg! It's so weird! Even when I kiss you it's different!”
