Rooney’s son follows his footsteps showing off football talent for first time

Kai Rooney has shown he's got what it takes to rival his own dad as he showed off his precocious footballing skills.

The 10-year-old son of Coleen and Wayne Rooney starred in his dad's Instagram video as he worked with a coach on his footwork.

Jumping deftly through a hopscotch ladder, Kai was super-focused as he was put through his paces by a private football coach.

As well as bearing his dad's name as his middle name, Kai showed he takes after Wayne in the talent department too.

He wore a pair of customised football boots featuring his name and a mini England flag, along with some white Umbro knee socks.

Kai kept his eyes down and concentrated as he jumped over obstacles, passed the ball back to his coach, and smashed a goal into the top-left of the net.

Just like his dad, Kai scored with ease before wrestling a tackle shield held up by his mentor.
