Rod Stewart’s wife Penny Lancaster sends message to Boris Johnson in rare moment with star

Penny Lancaster and Sir Rod Stewart have been married since 2007 and they’re currently holed up in Florida during the coronavirus lockdown. The former Loose Women panellist gushed over the singer, 75, alongside an unseen photo before she broke her silence on Boris Johnson.

The 49-year-old shared a black and white snap of the couple as they relaxed on the beach.

In view of her 99,000 Instagram followers, the model’s candid post showed just the back of herself and Rod seated on deckchairs as they overlooked the sea.

With her blonde tresses blowing in the wind, her hand could be seen resting on the rocker’s lap.

The stunning photo was captioned: “A listener needs a listener too,” before she added her own heartfelt message to the post.

Penny admitted she was “glad” to have Rod by her side before she offered prayers for Boris.

She penned: “Glad I have this one! Hold on, for the future will be a better place and ‘We’ll meet again.’ Praying Boris recovers soon.”

It comes as the Prime Minister was rushed to intensive care on Monday night after his coronavirus symptoms worsened.

Boris was given oxygen after his health deteriorated sharply over just two hours, leaving doctors fearing he would need a ventilator.

Downing Street has since said Boris is “stable” and “in good spirits” but being closely monitored.

The move to intensive care was reportedly taken as a precaution.

According to sources, the PM’s condition after being admitted to ICU has not changed.

Reports suggest Boris is now breathing for himself, but Downing Street have not yet provided an update.

Elsewhere, Penny recently opened up about life in quarantine with Rod on social media.

The couple, who share two children – Alastair, 14, and Aiden, nine – are currently self-isolating with their sons and Rod’s older children Ruby and Sean – from his previous relationships with Alana Stewart and Kelly Emberg.

Last month, the Loose Loose Women panelist posted a picture on Instagram to give her fans an update.

The photograph captured two people playing a game of cards on the floor, and saw her reflect on her blessings and quiet time with her family.

Penny quipped: “Had to get my husband drunk before I could serve him my cooking tonight #stayhome.”
